– Game Notes –

LOOKING BACK ON THE SERIES AT LSU
Georgia had a tough road task last weekend at LSU. The Bulldogs were swept in close games, as the Tigers secured the series with a walk-off win in game one and a pair of shutouts in a doubleheader on Sunday after weather forced the schedule change. The Bulldogs were swept just once last season, falling on the road at top-five Auburn. Lacey Sumerlin and Cortni Emanuel tabbed two hits each while Maeve McGuire collected the lone RBI with a game-tying double in game one.

SUMERLIN MAKING HER WAY TO BASE
Sumerlin has been finding a way to reach base this season, as she leads the team with a .514 on-base percentage. That number ranks 11th in the SEC and 60th in the nation. The sophomore is currently on a 10-game reach-base streak, which is a new career high. During those games, Sumerlin has hit a team-best .474 with nine hits and six runs scored. She also reached by way of 11 walks, as she now has 30 on the year. In SEC games only, Sumerlin is tied for the top spot among all league players with a .500 average while she is solo at the top with a .917 slugging percentage and .700 on-base percentage.

NO STRIKEOUTS FOR GEORIGA BATTERS
Georgia’s batters didn’t record a single strikeout in game three at LSU, marking the sixth time this season that a Bulldog didn’t strike out. Georgia didn’t strike out in game two’s win over Kentucky earlier this month, as the last time Georgia didn’t have a K in a league game was against Ole Miss in 2015 as well as versus Arkansas that same season.

GEORGIA COMES IN AT 18 IN NCAA RPI
Georgia moved down a spot to No. 18 in this week’s RPI. Seven SEC teams rank above Georgia while nine league teams are in the top 25, as the Bulldogs face seven of those. This weekend’s opponent in Auburn comes in at No. 5 while Georgia faces No. 4 Florida next weekend. Georgia is 10-7 against the top 100, including 3-5 versus the top 25 with wins over Ohio State and Kentucky. The SEC leads in the conference RPI.
