The No. 12/12 Georgia softball team completed the regular-season sweep of in-state rival Georgia Tech with a 3-0 win on Wednesday, April 8 at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 32-10 on the year, while Georgia Tech falls to 14-26. Georgia has now won six-straight over the Yellow Jackets.
[su_spacer size=”40 him”] Chelsea Wilkinson (18-6) got the win. She allowed just two hits in the complete-game shutout. It was the 15th shutout of the season for Georgia. Wilkinson also struck out eight. Kylie Klenschimdt (5-17) suffered the loss. She allowed three runs on four hits and three walks. She also struck out five.

Cortni Emanuel led things off with an infield single. She scored when Sydni Emanuel doubled to the gap in left center that put Georgia up 1-0. With a S. Emanuel at third after a sacrifice bunt by Paige Wilson, Alex Hugo lifted the ball to shallow center for a sacrifice fly that scored S. Emanuel to give Georgia a 2-0 lead. After Anna Swafford walked, she stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch and a fielding error. With two away, Tina Iosefa tripled to right center, scoring Swafford to bring the Georgia lead to 3-0.
