A walk off single by Tina Iosefa in the bottom of the seventh drove in the winning run as the No. 9/8 Georgia softball team sealed the series against the No. 21/21 Missouri Tigers with a 5-4 win on Sunday, April 5 at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. With the win, Georgia moves to 31-10 on the season and 8-6 in Southeastern Conference action. Missouri falls to 24-9 overall and 6-6 in league play.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chelsea Wilkinson got the start and threw 4.1 innings for the Bulldogs. She allowed one run on one hit and four walks. She also struck out three batters. Brittany Gray (13-4) earned the win and threw the final 2.2 innings after she entered in the fifth inning. She allowed three runs, none of which were earned, on four hits and a walk. She also struck out two. Paige Lowary (11-2) suffered the loss after giving up the winning run. She allowed one run on one hits and two walks in 0.2 innings. Tori Finucane started the game and threw 5.2 innings. She allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits and three walks.

The throw to catch her stealing ricocheted off of the shortstop’s glove, allowing Swafford to slide into third. A wild pitch allowed Swafford to score from third, allowing Georgia to take a 2-1 lead.

Pinch hitter Savannah McHellon reached on a throwing error, which allowed pinch runner Adele Harrison to score from second and give Georgia a 4-1 lead.
