Georgia softball’s Alyssa DiCarlo earned her third SEC Freshman of the Week honor, the league announced Monday.
DiCarlo recorded a .643 average in last week’s four games with nine hits, including three home runs. She had multi-hit performances in all four games, including a 3-for-3 effort in game two at No. 14 Missouri where she hit a career-best two home runs in the game.
The Arizona native finished the weekend’s sweep in Columbia with a .700 average, going 7-for-10 with six RBI and a 1.600 slugging percentage.
On the year, DiCarlo is hitting .394 with 50 hits, as her hits total ranks sixth in the league. The third baseman has 19 extra-base hits, including her seven home runs that is tied for second in the potent Bulldog lineup.
It’s the fourth weekly honor this season for a Bulldog, as Chelsea Wilkinson was also named the SEC Pitcher of the Week earlier this year.
DiCarlo and the Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when the team travels to Georgia Tech. The game is set for 6 p.m. ET and will show on ESPN3.
