The Georgia softball team defeated Delaware State 10-0 in five innings on Sunday morning to complete the sweep of the UCF Wilson/DeMarini Tournament. The win marked the Lady Diamond Dogs 12th in a row, advancing their season record to 24-3.

 
 
The Bulldog pitching staff dominated the Hornets batters and combined for a no-hitter. Brittany Gray (15-1), Amanda Ablan and Kylie Bass held down the circle, allowing just three baserunners through a walk, hit by pitch and fielder’s choice. Gray started the game and posted two strikeouts in two innings. Ablan tabbed four strikeouts in six batters faced in the next two frames while Bass closed out the game with a walk and strikeout.
 
 
It’s Georgia’s first no-hitter of the season while going down as the program’s 39th performance. It marks the fifth time Gray has been a part of a no-hit effort and the second for Bass.
 
 
At the plate, Georgia totaled 16 hits, as Kendall Burton led the crew with three hits, including her third triple of the year. Sydni Emanuel notched her first triple of the season while Maeve McGuire knocked out her second home run of the weekend for a team-best three RBI.
 
 
Georgia used a two-out triple from Burton to spark a 4-0 lead after one inning. The junior came home on a RBI single from Alyssa DiCarlo while the Bulldogs capitalized on two Hornet errors for the frame’s final runs.
 
 
After adding a run in the second, McGuire highlighted the offense in the third with a three-run home run to help put Georgia ahead 9-0. Georgia finished its offense in the fifth with a RBI single from Burton to bring home Brea Dickey.

Georgia stays in the Peach State for its upcoming games. The Bulldogs travel to Atlanta on Wednesday, March 15 for a bout with in-state rival Georgia Tech before hosting its SEC opener against Kentucky starting on Saturday, March 18.
