A Look Back
Georgia completed its seventh SEC series win over the weekend, taking two-of-three from #17 Alabama. The Bulldogs took game one 5-3. Down a run going to the seventh in game two, Georgia plated two runs, capped by an RBI single by Mahlena O’Neal, to win the series against the Tide for the first time since 2005, snapping a 10-series losing streak. The Bulldogs plated three seventh-inning runs in the finale but the comeback fell short in the end, 7-4. Georgia finished the month of April 12-4.
Georgia will then set its sights on the SEC Tournament in Columbia, Missouri May 9-12. With a likely first-round bye, Georgia will open tournament play Thursday, May 10.

Emanuel Picks Up SEC Player of the Week
Emanuel native hit .778 last weekend against Alabama with an .833 on-base clip. Five of her seven hits never left the infield, bunting for a hit twice against the Tide. She added four stolen bases on the weekend; now has 46 on the season, a career best.
She scored the tying run in the bottom of the seventh of Saturday’s comeback win over Alabama, clinching the series for the first time since 2005. Her RBI single to short Sunday put Georgia on the board in the bottom of the fourth with two out. This is Emanuel’s second SEC Player of the Week award, winning it for the first time May 8, 2017.
