Seven Georgia softball players earned All-SEC accolades, as announced by the league on Tuesday, highlighted by two Bulldogs named First-Team All-SEC and four to the second team.
 
 
Freshman Alyssa DiCarlo and junior Sydni Emanuel garnered spots on the first team while DiCarlo was also a Freshman All-SEC selection. On the second team were seniors Chelsea Wilkinson, Alex Hugo and Tina Iosefa along with sophomore Cortni Emanuel. Joining DiCarlo on the freshman list was fellow infielder Lacey Sumerlin to round out the Bulldog honorees.
 
 
The seven players honored tied the most among the SEC schools, as regular-season champion Florida also had seven players named to postseason awards. It is the most selections to the All-SEC teams in program history, topping the six selected in 2005, 2006 and 2009.
 
 
DiCarlo has excelled in the Bulldog lineup in her first year. Ranked in the top 15 of the league in overall hits, RBI and doubles, the third baseman is also top 30 nationally with 55 RBI. DiCarlo turned it up even more since conference play began in March, as she is tied for a league-best nine home runs against SEC opponents while second with 29 RBI. The Glendale, Arizona, native has been named SEC Freshman of the Week three times.
 
 
S. Emanuel has one of the most consistent bats, leading the conference with a .469 overall average while improving that mark to a league-best .514 in SEC action. The Texas product’s batting average is ranked 10th in the nation while she is also top 15 in the SEC in hits and on-base percentage. The lefty slap-hitter holds 38 hits in conference play, the most among all players despite missing four games. This is the second All-SEC honor for the outfielder, as last season she was named Second-Team All-SEC.
 
 
Wilkinson is now a four-time All-SEC honoree, picking up Freshman Team honors in 2013 then first and second-team accolades the past two seasons. Ranked second in Georgia’s all-time strikeouts with 856, Wilkinson is ranked high in nearly every SEC pitching statistic, including a tie for first with 23 wins. The Taylorsville, North Carolina, native has two complete perfect games in her career while she combined for one against in-state rival Georgia Tech last month.
 
 
Hugo earns her third All-SEC award in her final year in Athens. After being one of the national leaders in home runs the past two seasons, the second baseman is using doubles and walks to become the team leader with 55 runs scored. Originally from Olathe, Kansas, Hugo is second in the league and 24th nationally with 19 doubles while third in the SEC with 45 walks. Hugo’s powerful bat is still there, as she has nine home runs this year to make it 56 in her Georgia career, just two away from tying Bulldog all-time leader Alisa Goler.
 
 
Iosefa is closing her career on a high note, as her overall numbers at the plate are the best in her four years. The national leader with 78 RBI, she is tied for first in the SEC with 19 home runs. Four of her home runs have come with the bases loaded, as that grand slam number is a program-best for a season while tying the mark for a career. The California girl follows Hugo at third with 51 career home runs. Iosefa is now a two-time member of the All-SEC Second Team.
 
 
C. Emanuel is also earning her second All-SEC honor, as she is following up an impressive freshman season with a strong sophomore campaign. The lefty speedster is right behind sister Sydni in the SEC batting averages, holding a .453 clip that is 13th nationally. As if her 77 hits weren’t a threat enough at the plate, C. Emanuel can advance bases at ease, evident with her 30 steals this season. The outfielder is already ranked in the top five of career stolen bases with 75.
 
 
Sumerlin has come on strong in her first year, holding one of the best averages for freshmen infielders with a .308 mark in SEC play. Against conference foes, the shortstop has started all 24 games with 20 total hits, including six for extra bases. The Mobile, Alabama, native is fourth on the team with 10 RBI in SEC action while scoring 10 times.
