UGA’s expected starter for the opening game against North Carolina, Sony Michel, broke his arm in an ATV accident during the Fourth of July weekend. Michel underwent surgery Monday morning to repair the injury, according to multiple published reports.
The injury complicates Georgia’s preparation for the opening game against North Carolina with Nick Chubb still recovering from a knee injury sustained last season against Tennessee. Recovery time for Michel should be in the 6 to 8-week range. If so, it is possible that both Michel and Chubb could see action in the Dome.
Georgia has two true freshmen running backs entering the program this summer, Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien. Other backs available to help shoulder the load include Tae Crowder (a redshirt freshman), senior Brendan Douglas and sophomore converted wide receiver, Shaquery Wilson.
I don’t understand your point on the above comment. Yes most of that is illegal and I agree, but he was riding an ATV. So this kid can’t live his life so we can have him on Saturdays?
Que to other RB’s – opportunity just knocked! Who is gonna answer? Assuming “They” are both back this will limit the plays Sony is used as well as Chubb being limited already.

As an elite athlete, you are a future stake holder of your own body. With this in mind, please refrain from marijuana (or any other illegal/forbidden intoxicant), BB guns (or any other forbidden firearms), smacking around women, driving a car without a drivers license (be it never attained or revoked), taking items that belong to others, and ATV’s or any other motorized vehicle that does not have safety equipment. Being a champion requires some diligence and sacrifice on your part. Your fans, your body, and your future thank you!
