PODCAST: ACC and Big 12 Race for Next Conference Network

In our latest podcast on conference expansion, Christopher Lambert, a prolific writer on the subject, talks about the next move for the Big 12 and how it will affect the stability of the ACC.

Lambert believes that the race for a TV network between the conferences will mean disaster for the loser. The problem for the Big 12 is Texas and its Longhorn Network. Longhorn Network is a disaster for ESPN Texas’ partner in the venture) due to a contract that guarantees Texas $15 million per year and inadequate programming inventory.

ESPN is losing millions on Longhorn Network. Can the WWL structure a deal that satisfies Texas and lures quality teams to the Big 12? Will those teams include members of the ACC?

Have a listen.
