For the 13th consecutive add year, Georgia (24-26) battles Ga. Tech (32-18) at Turner Field in the Kauffman Tire Spring Baseball Classic for Kids. Fox Sports South will televise Tuesday’s game live at 7 p.m. Georgia holds an 8-4 edge in the all-time series at Turner Field. Tech is the home team this year, and they are 1-0 versus the Bulldogs this season, posting a 13-6 win in Athens on March 31. The April 14th meeting on Tech’s campus was rained out. Last year, Tech won 2-0 at Turner Field in front of 21,310. In records dating back to 1950. Georgia leads the overall series 115-101.
[su_spacer size=”40″] All proceeds benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. More than 20,000 tickets are sold annually to this game at Turner Field making it one of the nation’s largest college baseball games each year. The record attendance for the Kauffman Tire Spring Baseball Classic for Kids is 28,836, set May 11, 2004 (a 12-5 Tech win).
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia’s top pitcher this season has been two-way standout seniorJared Walsh. He is 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA in 13 appearances including seven starts while batting .306-3-21 in 39 games including 37 starts as either a DH/1B/OF.  He hit a game-tying home run to start the ninth in an eventual 6-1 series-clinching win in 10 innings at Kentucky last Sunday. Also, he batted .417 (5-12 with 3 walks) in the series. Walsh will get the start Tuesday against Tech as part of a staff night that will likely feature Mike MancusoTaylor HicksBo TuckerZach Waters and Jared CheekGeorgia Tech will employ a staff night on the mound as well starting with junior right-hander Cole Pitts (0-5, 6.98 ERA).

Fans can purchase individual tickets at the gate on game day for $12 each.  Parking will be $5 each for cars and $35 each for buses in the lots directly across the street from Turner Field.
