Hammond School senior defensive end Jordan Burch out of Columbia, SC announced via Twitter on Monday that he has set a date to make his commitment announcement, which will be on Thursday, December 19th.
Burch will likely decide from his top-five schools which include the University of Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, and South Carolina.
So, which one of those five schools will Jordan Burch commit to?
Burch took an official visit to LSU back during the weekend of October 26th to see the Bayou Bengals beat Auburn 23-20 in Death Valley. He recently took a visit to Alabama on November 8th for the Tide’s game versus LSU. While I’m sure Burch had a great time on his official to LSU and then he got to see the Tigers beat the Tide, I still think the three main schools leading for Burch are Clemson, Georiga, and South Carolina. But I won’t deny that LSU has gained a ton of momentum over the last month. It’ll be interesting to see what effect the SEC Championship game has on Burch’s recruitment if any.
Whichever one of his top-five schools ends up getting Burch’s commitment, they are going to be getting a dynamic playmaker on the defensive side of the ball.
The 6-foot-5 and 250 lbs Burch is one of the top defensive ends in the 2020 recruiting class. He is rated the No. 1 strong-side defensive end and a 5-star prospect by 247Sports as well as Rivals. He is considered the top prospective student-athlete from the Palmetto State and one of the top-five recruits nationally overall.
