Julian Rochester, Juwan Taylor, and Jarvis Wilson talked to the media Monday afternoon. All three praised the freshmen in their position groups and as a whole. Each one spoke about various players who’ve stood out so far in camp and how it impresses them. After Georgia got the number one class in the nation last year, the members of that class aren’t wasting any time.
Rochester said it best during his interview in regards to the young guys, “the standard is the standard.” These young guys appear to have taken that motto and ran with it. In particular for Rochester, Jordan Davis has made a lot of progress this offseason. Rochester mentioned that he’d taken the youngster under his wing to show him the ropes.
“Yeah, I got him… He’s my Dawg,” Rochester says of Davis and how he’s got his back.
The junior defensive lineman commented on what Davis’ has done so far this offseason and what he likes from him. Rochester mentioned that Davis reminded of him when he was younger just from his sheer size alone.

“He getting more physical every single day,” Rochester states. “I like the way he’s working. He’s one of the young guys that like to listen and listens to the coaching that we’re trying to tell him. We know it’s hard out there for him. And we got his back, and he knows it.”
Rochester goes onto say that since Davis arrived, he’s picked up his game. The junior mentioned a few times just how proud of him he is.
“He’s just got to keep working,” Rochester says when asked about what advice would he give Davis.
Jarvis Wilson has quite a few youngsters around him. The senior strong safety mentioned Otis Reese, Tyson Campbell, and Chris Smith. Wilson said the competition is always there and that the young guys are making everyone better.

“They’re coming on pretty fast,” Wilson states. “They’re working hard, and the competition is thick now. Everybody is competing hard and its making everybody better.”
Wilson then begins to name drop about what some of the new guys bring to the table. Right away he mentions Otis Reese and a big hit he made.
“Different guys bring different things,” Wilson says. “Chris Smith is very smart, Tyson Campbell he’s very fast, Otis (Reese) he’s very physical. It’s a pretty good group.”

Juwan Taylor didn’t specify any one freshman or underclassmen but mentioned the group as a whole. He said that he notices them out on the field for a few reasons.
“I see those guys, and those guys are fast,” Taylor comments. “They’re catching onto the defense fast, better than me my freshman year. I feel like they can help us this year on defense.”
These three defenders already see what the freshman bring to the table, and all three seem excited to compete with them. They were a part of the number one recruiting class for a reason, and that’s to come in at Georgia and compete. It seems they’re doing just that and then some.
