The Bulldogs landed the number one running back in the country for 2018 when Zamir White announced his decision to commit to the University of Georgia in a scheduled announcement today.

White, also known by his nickname “Zeus”, has over 24 scholarship offers and chose to commit to UGA over Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and his home state of North Carolina.

The 5 foot 11.5 and 221 lbs Zeus hails from Laurinburg, NC where he suits up for Scotland High School at running back. He is rated the number one running back prospect in the country for 2018 by 247, ESPN, Rivals and Scout. All four of those recruiting services also rate him a five-star prospect with the exception of ESPN which rates him as a four-star. White is also considered a top 10 overall prospect nationally and is a top ESPN 300, Rivals 100, and Scout 100 player.

Just how good is Zamir “Zeus” White?

Georgia is getting another stud running back that has the potential to join the likes of Nick Chubb, Garrison Hearst, Todd Gurley, Sony Michel, Knowshon Moreno, Lars Tate, and Herschel Walker when talking about some of the best tailbacks to run between the hedges. White has rushed for over 5,083 yards on 590 carries for 85 touchdowns in threes years at Scotland High School. The accolades and stats are one thing but watching him run, puts it all into perspective. The tape doesn’t lie. Zeus has both power and speed and runs with great balance. You’ll rarely see one defender bring him down nor does he usually go down with the first contact. He also has good vision and patience.

Zeus will join Brian Herrien, Elijah Holyfield, Prather Hudson, Ian McIntyre, and D’Andre Swift as part of the Bulldogs 2018 running back corps.
