National Media Personalities Will Be G-Day Refs

SEC Network is surrounding No. 3 Georgia’s G-Day Spring Game with additional commentators to shadow and participate as referees throughout the day, keeping with spring game tradition over the past few seasons. ESPN’s Sean McDonoughTodd BlackledgeMarty SmithDusty Dvoracek and Molly McGrath, along with college football reporters Ralph Russo (Associated Press), Dennis Dodd (CBS Sports), Andy Staples (Sports Illustrated) and George Schroeder (USA Today), will take fans inside prep meetings, referee positioning & roles, as well as game calls. Schroeder will serve as a replay official while the other guest officials will be on the field.

Tom HartMatt StinchcombGreg McElroy and Maria Taylor will have the traditional call of the intrasquad scrimmage on SEC Network at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 20. The quartet will be joined throughout the telecast by the media referees between the hedges at Sanford Stadium on Saturday.

Throughout the telecast, SEC Network will be tapping into the SEC Officials’ headsets to learn how they communicate with each other throughout the game.

This is the last weekend of ESPN’s televised SEC football spring game coverage. ESPN networks aired all 14 SEC spring games for the fourth consecutive season.
