No Implications, Coach Harbaugh – Listening Before Tweeting is a Smart Move


 
Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh has been getting plenty of national press by tweaking the SEC and its coaches on Twitter. A recent tweet refers to remarks that Kirby Smart made in response to an audience question during a Macon Touchdown Club appearance Monday night. In the first 15 seconds of his answer, Smart declares that it is Michigan’s “right” to attempt to “gain a competitive advantage” by camping in Florida.
 
 
Coach Harbaugh obviously has not listened to Smart’s answer, but accuracy is not important in this publicity effort by the Michigan coach. Harbaugh is successfully using his media presence to further raise his profile. In other words, the tweets are no different than his holding a spring training recruiting camp in Florida – they are both hype.
