OT but because you’re dying to know: UMd Men’s Lacrosse won the Big 10 lacrosse championship today, beating a tough Rutgers team. Tomorrow the undefeated women’s team will beat a badly outgunned Northwestern team for the women’s 2016 Big10 lacrosse championship. Both will play for the Nattys, later this month.

Well I figured some of y’all are more country than I am. Maybe they’re some hunters on here

  4. Brooklyndawg

Hobnailboot aka RobG Brooklyndawg Bulldawg36 Bad luck to celebrate before a baby is actually born. So I was taught as a child. But this isn’t any special thing, I’m always grumpy##

  5. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Brooklyndawg Hobnailboot aka RobG Bulldawg36  I bet that PB had that raccoon messed up then….lockjaw

  6. Brooklyndawg

Hobnailboot aka RobG Bulldawg36 We feed our “vermin” (lol) out back where we feed our small deer herd. One thing I didn’t know is that raccoons can’t produce saliva so they have to wet their food with water. We have a well-supplied small upper and lower pond connected by a stream that they like. It’s neat to watch them.

  7. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Brooklyndawg Hobnailboot aka RobG Bulldawg36  HEY GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!  geez Brooklyn, why are you such a grump? ##

  8. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 The once mighty softball teams is a shadow of its former self this year.

  9. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg36  Raccoon’s are smart animals, I saw one scrounging around in a trash can at a hotel once, it got a jar of peanut butter and spun it around in it’s little hands and after about 45 seconds figured out how to get the lid off, it was kind of neat actually, he never saw me so he was oblivious, or he just didn’t care  that I was watching and was more concerned with the peanut butter

  10. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 Let me ask a simple question…why would you think that any one of us would know that? Here’s an idea, if you really need to know, Google he question. I’m betting a raccoon has a greater bite force but a possum’s teeth are not to be messed with. BTW, both species can carry rabies.

  11. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Bulldawg36 We were winning 7-1, I believe, then completely imploded. Might be getting on time to consider new coaches for our teams that play with small, medium, and large size balls, on the diamonds or courts.

  12. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg36  your wife is a soon to be mother, so now you have a reason

  13. Bulldawg36

Thanks bob, don’t really celebrate it because I don’t know my mothers phone number or where She lives. Plus my in – laws are over seas

  14. Bulldawg36

Diamond dawgs struggling down the stretch- will be lucky to finish with a winning record

  15. Brooklyndawg

What is the Southeastern Women’s Lacrosse League? Is that an unofficial non-UGA sanctioned league? Well, they won it, whatever it is.

  16. Colonial Dawg

Greg Poole Bulldawg36  Usually you can get one lit with 2 shots of bourbon!  🙂

  17. Hobnailboot aka RobG

DawgDaddy  The Master’s is about the experience they are not worried about making money on the patrons….wish everywhere was like that

  18. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Brooklyndawg  there are at least 2 different kinds at my house…the screech and one that stands about 2 foot tall, and light colored feathers, not sure what kind, maybe a Barn?

  19. Hobnailboot aka RobG

ZippyMorocco Brooklyndawg  the only thing you can expect is a roller coaster ride of emotions when you’re a Dawg fan

  20. RobDawg

Can someone confirm – it looks like UGA women lacrosse just claimed National Champion title

  21. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Brooklyndawg  I saw a screech owl this am at my house, I did not realize how small those things are, or how loud….geeez

  22. Bansai buckeroo

It’s all good…just not jumping on any bandwagons quite yet…but I like what I’m seeing so far…

  23. Bulldawg36

i know I’ve asked a lot guys!!! But hunker down just one more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. ZippyMorocco

Well, my first day at UGA was the flea flicker game. I have seen it all. I have seen us lose to Tulane and  and Wake Forrest. I have seen us beat everyone. After 50 years of watching, I don’t know what to expect.

  25. Brooklyndawg

Forgot to say we also have about a dozen or so different species of birds (and 20 bird feeders, not counting the hummingbird stations), a flock of crows, a Cooper’s Hawk and a Redtailed Hawk, plus squirrels, chipmunks, lizards, and tree frogs. No snakes or mosquitoes….pest control.

  26. Bulldawg Bob2

LOL! So what you gonna do if Georgia goes 8-4 for this season?
And then what happens if the Dawgs go 12-0 in 2017?

  27. Bansai buckeroo

Giving Kirby and company this year….that’s it….after all we are suppose to be upgrading….my 2 cents…

Bulldawg36 Where we live, in west Athens, we have deer, racoons, possums, foxes, and an occasional coyote, on our property.

  30. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 Yes, because there are no tested, validated, replacements yet.

  31. Bulldawg36

You know I’m joking. I’m scared of those things- I wouldn’t even get 50 feet within a coon. Lol

  32. Bulldawg36

I didn’t get the notification because I’ve only had the car a couple of months. I just put the VIN in at the And it said it had a recall for the airbag like u said. Said the recall was incomplete

  33. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  It depends on the size of the bird. I go by temperature more than time. For poultry that means, 175° F. A 14 to 16 lbs turkey takes about 5 to 7 hours if I smoke at an average temp of 230° F

  34. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 And down below you say only crazy people would do that. OK…..

  35. Brooklyndawg

Bulldawg36 Probably for the airbag? We got a notification in the mail for one of our cars but it wasn’t a bring it in, it was we’ll let you know when suitable replacements have been made available. Until then, you may die…..

  36. Bulldawg36

I’ll have to try some of your smoked turkey one day!! How long do you smoke that turkey?

  37. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  Glad to hear you, Mrs.BD36 and the little one are doing A-OK.

We are probably going to head over to the in-laws for Mother’s Day. I’m smoking a turkey; so, we will all eat too much and complain about eating too much afterwards lol

  38. Bulldawg36

Y’all going over your mothers house tomorrow? We doing good the baby is growing like it should…it’s a blessing I didn’t see coming. Lol

  39. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  LOL. All depends on if you enjoy getting shots for rabies or not ####

I’m doing good BD36. Getting ready for Mother’s Day tomorrow. How are you and Mrs. BD36 and that bun in the oven?

  40. Bulldawg36

Yeah we will be ok. But will I be ok after feeding the raccoon? ####. How are u doing today Bob???

  41. Bulldawg Bob2

Bulldawg36  If, and this is a big “if”, Coach Rocker did take the Alabama job, it is not the end of the world. Yes. It is difficult to replace coaches this time of year, but it is not impossible.

    Georgia will be OK.

  42. Brooklyndawg

LOL, Bob…..Freudian slip there?….Coach “Saban” and UGA match any offer ‘Bama puts on the table!!! See, I DO read what you write! OK, CKS becomes the Saban of the SECeast?

  43. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgByte  Its a “story” all right, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “news” story.

  44. Brooklyndawg

You sort of contradict yourself. On the one hand you cite the clear areas of concern and the unknowns many of us may share with you, which is most of the positions, ATM, yet on the other you say it’s hard to imagine we don’t improve on last year’s 10 win season. That’s a stretch by your own arguments. Now, if you had said you can’t see us not improving on last year’s overall play, and consistency, which may not translate i to more than 10 wins, I’d buy that…jmho

  45. Bulldawg Bob2

I reported last night that the Tracy Rocker to Alabama is nothing more than rattling of sabers. While it is true that Rocker is on Alabama’s list of candidates and that he could be contacted if that is the case, we have not been able to verify if that is the case. It is not impossible that he would leave to take a job at Alabama, the Crimson Tide would have to fork over some serious cash for this to happen.

Why? Tracy Rocker was given an associate head coach title and raise. Plus, his son is in school here in the local area.

What about reports on Tracy Rocker and Jeremy Pruitt’s relationship, is it friendly, tolerable, can they not stand one another? No one knows but the coaches.  There

Why didn’t Bulldawg Illustrated have a write up on Tracy  Rocker? Because it is a non-news story. Nothing has been verified. It is basically a forum thread rumor on another site(s). The only candidate I have been able to find that has been contacted is Buffalo Bills’ d-line coach Karl Dunbar, and even Alabama sources won’t confirm that.

This is the most accurate story I have seen on Alabama’s search for a new d-line coach to replace Bo Davis:

  46. DawgByte

Colonial Dawg I understand your enthusiasm based on improved talent and depth at WR/TE. We still have serious question marks at the QB position, OL, RB, DL, ILB kicking game. Having said that I really like this coaching staff to teach these guys up, add more intensity and be better prepared to play all 4 quarters. It’s hard to imagine us not improving on last years mark. If Eason comes on early (UNC game) and lights it up then Katy bar the door, because this team will be on fire. Gotta shore up the D though… that’s the most troublesome area for me right now.

  47. DawgByte

Reddawg13 Greg Poole Can you imagine Woerner and Nauta on the field at the same time?!!!

  48. Reddawg13

Colonial Dawg No CD I don’t think you are crazy! Every year a team no one expects rises to the top, it very well could be us!

  49. Reddawg13

DawgDaddy Greg Poole more focused, more prepared and a killer instinct, until we get more size and strength we may get out maned, but not out worked!

  50. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Well there are folks that loved Richt and lost that love or a portion of it. And those that still love him and both groups are entitled. However, every time there is a coaching change there will be comparisons. That is both natural and okay. We should all allow each other to have their thoughts and opinions and have a good BI discussion on the matter when it is brought up. I loved Richt for a long time and the tolerated him and then lost faith. I believe we are headed in the right direction and the evidence is plain to see. Attack the day and the season and especially the opponents!

  51. Greg Poole

Colonial Dawg  Less than 8 will be very troubling – an indication of internal problems. 8-10 will be about what is expected in a transition, given CKS pedigree. More than 10 wins means you better up your contribution and save your money for future playoff travel.
    Jus’ sayin’

  52. Colonial Dawg

Ok, here is my 2 cents worth, and maybe it’s worth less than 2 cents…..
I keep reading where the Dawgs will win anywhere from a low of 8 to a max of 12 games this year.  Richt was able to coax 10 wins (yes I know one belongs to BMac) out of this team with Schotty as OC, Lambert as quarterback and not a lot of depth at WR, along with forgetting about the tight ends.  And the team was a dropped pass away from 11-2.   Yes, we were also very close to being 8 and 5.  Well, at worst, we have the same quarterback, a better OC, tight ends who can be world beaters, better depth at WR.  Yes, we have questions especially on the DL, but I just somehow cannot see us going as low as 8 wins.  I still think we win 11 games this year.  Now, if we do only win 8, I will accept that as a transition and look forward to 2017, but I am cautiously optimistic re 2016.   Am I crazy?

    On the Rocker Non-Story:

I saw the Bama site article in my feed this morning and read it carefully, hoping for a juicy traffic generator this morning. It is all about second-hand sources.

When a site without access to the program posts something like this that would be national news if true, one has to ask why the site that actually had the info (Dawgs247 – Jake Rowe) doesn’t have huge headline screaming “ROCKER WILL DUMP UGA FOR GUMPS”. Of course, all of the other beat media from UGA and Bama would be all over a story like that.

I posted it in this forum only and 247 posted a little blurb on it – at this point (and IMHO forever) it is a non-story.

  55. Colonial Dawg

Greg Poole Colonial Dawg Ah!  Thanks.  Now I can get back to work which is what I’m supposed to be doing anyway.

  56. Greg Poole

Colonial Dawg That is correct and there is no indication that Rocker has any inclination to take the job.

  57. Colonial Dawg

DawgByte Bulldawg36 I was under the impression (maybe wrongly so) that Rocker was not a fan of Pruitt’s.   If so, can’t figure out why he would want to go work for him again.

  58. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  Then you should have known that it is a source within a source story. I suspect that Rocker is a “candidate” for every open DL job in the country – if you define “candidate” as someone the team would like to hire.

Dawgs247 confirmed the “candidacy” the confirmed that a hire is “unlikely”.

  59. Greg Poole

DawgByte  They took that from an Alabama source without bothering to check the sources cited in the article. Dawgs247 has since said that Rocker is “unlikely” to take the job…but I’m sure they’ll get lots of clicks from Dawgbone.

  60. Bulldawg36

You right! Also Garner should of been shipped out right along with Donnan in 2000!!!!

  61. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 If I’m McGarity I’d feel out the interest level before automatically increasing his pay. An athletic program can’t be held hostage by coaches threatening to leave all the time or payroll spirals out of control. Rodney Garner use to pull that crap all the time!

  62. Bulldawg36

Why would anybody hand feed a Raccoon? Lol. They will bite you! If they can get you on the ground they will rip you to shreds!!!

  63. Bulldawg36

I knew about it last night. Mcgarirty better give the man a nice raise. We need Rocker too stay here till he retires

  64. DawgDaddy

Very sad, all of us here did stupid things like that back in the day. Sometimes we just don’t know how close we were to ending up like that.

  65. Greg Poole

The link is bad for me but the photo is Chuba Hubbard

  66. ZippyMorocco

    First week lines

    Notre Dame (-6) at Texas
Ole Miss (+8.5) vs. Florida State at Orlando, Fla.

  67. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole pushing a wheel barrow of concrete is no joke, I used to be afraid that I might do something like that back in the day.

  68. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Thanks for sharing this, I was always told growing up that “you play like you practice”  I think we should be more focused if nothing else.

  69. Greg Poole

Last night I told you guys that I had a chat with someone who watched 100% of every practice and scrimmage this spring. We just talked in general terms. I hope to be able to draw on this resource when fall camp starts, so I did not want to grill him at the first opportunity.

I asked if he thought that practices were substantially different from the Richt era in terms of energy, organization and attention to detail. The answer confirmed what I thought from my observations during the brief media periods. Energy levels are much higher. My source mentioned a greater increased emphasis on teaching. The source put a lot of emphasis on there being a major difference.

Organization was an area that was also said to have changed positively. One example given was that Richt often had the team changing position on the fields and often to different fields. That may seem like an insignificant thing but you must remember that NCAA allows 2 hours of practice. That is why the practice periods are carefully defined and timed. My source said the constant movement that burned practice time used to drive Pruitt crazy.

  70. Greg Poole

Score Check The article quotes a source who says Jake Rowe confirmed the candidacy. However, Dawgs247 is now calling a move to Bama by Rocker, “unlikely.”
