Greg Poole I really hope that step forward is toward Athens.   I  want him at UGA.

  2. dsw61

Chaney has also said in the past that he prefers being down on the field when coaching young QBs.

  3. dsw61

Kirby says Tucker will be down on the field during games…as will Chaney most likely. My guess is that Pittman and Sherrer will be upstairs. I recall Chaney saying in an interview at a prior stop where Pittman was the OL coach; that he trust Pittman’s eyes and likes him upstairs. Should be interesting.

  4. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg yea after they got a lead they seem to just relax

  5. Lucas Rogers

RumRunnerDoogie Lucas Rogers PTCDawg yeah that was him. Interested to see how we do against Dobbs this year. Couldn’t tackle him at all last year

  6. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg especially that ole miss QB last year, kelly i think

  7. Lucas Rogers

RumRunnerDoogie Lucas Rogers PTCDawg For real lol. Always seemed like their weakness.

  8. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg hopefully they will do better against running QBs than they did at bama in the past haha

  9. Lucas Rogers

RumRunnerDoogie Lucas Rogers PTCDawg especially if we can get some pressure on the QB

  10. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg add in those tall CBs and thats a rough secondary to go against

  11. Lucas Rogers

RumRunnerDoogie Lucas Rogers PTCDawg no joke. Secondary would be looking good

  12. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg him and lecounte at safety would be deadly

  13. Lucas Rogers

RumRunnerDoogie Lucas Rogers PTCDawg Yeah DB class is looking good and that would be a great addition.

  14. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg btw i like the stevens crootin update

  15. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers RumRunnerDoogie PTCDawg ticket, gas, hotel, food…rum lol. probably be cheaper to go to the kick off than a game at sanford

  16. RumRunnerDoogie

Lucas Rogers PTCDawg for me to go it would probably be a total of a grand

  17. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole Lucas Rogers I actually probably will go to a game this fall. Only live 4 miles away lol

  18. Bansai buckeroo

@PTC…?I know…was thinking about going and taking the family but it will be pretty pricey from what I’ve seen…..UNC puts their tickets on sale Saturday but don’t expect it to be any better..

  19. Bulldawg36

Suppose to be cooler Thursday & Friday. The farmers almanac was right that we would have a cooler may…also said we would have a cooler June & July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. PTCDawg

OMG!! just looked at tickets for the dang UNC game…UGA football tickets are just ridiculous!!!

  21. DawgLink

CKS isn’t crazy. He saw what everyone else did at G Day. He may not start but I would bet that he plays against NC

  22. BahitsAgain

Bulldawg36 Where do we get those certifications?  I took down my share of yard birds in my younger days.  Can I get a certification based on experience?

  23. Bulldawg36

And he does! But lambert gives us the best chance to beat SC. he’s a certified chicken killer!!!!!!

  24. Greg Poole

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –Georgia first baseman Trevor Kieboom has been named to the 2016 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday.
Kieboom’s efforts including serving as a volunteer for “Home Runs For Hometown Rivals,” a fundraiser to benefit Athens-Clarke County Special Olympics that features a game at Foley Field between Special Olympic players. He has been a volunteer for Salvation Army activities, made elementary school visits including for a Halloween Party and Reading Days. During his career at UGA, Clemson and Chattahoochee Valley Community College, the redshirt junior from Marietta, Ga., has participated in Feed the Hungry projects during the holiday season at local churches, served on a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, various Special Olympic Community events and been a volunteer coach for Little League Baseball. Also of note, Kieboom has earned a degree in management from UGA.

  25. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers  There are a number of younger guys that have the talent to play. I fully expect the staff to ready them but I have had those expectations before…
It is a different deal in Athens though. Some many changes – no one is sitting back fat and happy.

  26. BenKellam

Like many have said before, its turning into TMZSPN. There’s no wonder they’ve had this slew of layoffs recently. They’re burning money. One thing I noticed was that they basically got rid of the side bar that would show upcoming topics. I bet its because if they truthfully told you what useless topics they were about to waste your time with, everyone would change the channel.

Lucas Rogers Mine too!  I wanted him more than D. Brown and I think he is going to be a huge player for us in the future!

  28. RumRunnerDoogie

BenKellam RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg36 i stopped watching because of that and they starting talking politics which to me is stupid for a “sports” network

  29. Lucas Rogers

Eason is my biggest impact but other than him I think Michail Carter has a good season.

  30. BenKellam

RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg36 Its really gone down the tubes. They spend more time analyzing people twitter and fashion choices than they do talking about anything related to the actual sports. It’s pretty awful. The new host, Sarina Morales is unwatchable and seems totally out of her element.

  31. willypmd

Lucas Rogers Greg Poole I agree, 9 wins is the most likely over under.  we win 9 and I will be happy, any more than that thrilled, and less and I just hope it is with starting Eason the entire season so at least we can feel like we are building to the future…

  32. willypmd

Greg Poole good luck Kenny.  lock down defender who can shoot the three, he should have a shot at it.  Never felt like he made it back 100% from his junior year injuries, if he is back to healthy I think he could be a solid 6th man in the right system

Greg Poole Like I said earlier, about the Power 5 commissioner thing…  It’s Beyond time for action with respect to this type of obvious cover-up and collusion.  If the NCAA and the Power 5 conferences don’t take the initiative soon, there will be a class action filed that makes the O’bannon and Utk cases look like fender benders verdicts.  IMO it would be wise for the member institutions and boards of regents to want this and thereby, deflect some of the eventual liability!

RobDawg I’ll take that one too!  As long as the DAWGS score first, I really don’t care who get’s the TD!

  35. RobDawg

The first score will be by a TE – not specifying the player but it will be to a TE

  36. Greg Poole

Here is one clear difference I have noticed about Lawrence as opposed to the others mentioned. He is known, the kids in Georgia want to play with him. He has camped with them since the 6th grade. He has played in middle school games with most of the top prospects starting the 7th grade. Lawrence was the QB on 8th grade Team Georgia that won the national championship in Texas two years ago. I cannot go many places where prospects don’t ask me about him or where do I think he is going. I have prospects from the 2016 class that were asking me about him.
All the stats are there, he has the tools, he has the intelligence to play QB at a high level, but the biggest weapon that Lawrence is going to bring with him is his ability to recruit. Whichever school he selects is going to immediately going to take step forward with a lot of prospects in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes.

BahitsAgain Bulldawg36 If he can out run a DB for 80 yards, then we really do have superman on campus!!###

PTCDawg Lucas Rogers Who’s you “biggest” impact freshman in this class??  lol

Greg Poole Ruled himself out with his last statement about Common sense person making decisions! lol  He did throw a little barb at Ole Miss too!  Bet they are glad Alabama shifted a little focus over their way!

Bulldawg36 I hoping and praying that first TD is by #27 braking a 25-30 yarder early in the first quarter!

Greg Poole PTCDawg Definitely won’t be on scholarship at UGA next year.  like you said earlier, there will be some roster management taking place in the near future!

  42. Bulldawg36

I can’t wait to see the first TD of the 2016 season when we ram the ball right down North Carolinas throats!!! Touchdown Sony michel!!!!!!!!!!

  43. TrueDawg

Greg Poole Lucas Rogers UT was Richt’s signature win in his first season.  That was a very highly rated UT team and at their place.  I would love to see Smart get this game.  Would set the tone a lot like that Hobnail game did years ago.

Lucas Rogers What about T. Simmons?  He is built, has speed and athleticism?  I think he stands a good chance of cracking the rotation early in the season as well.  He appears to have the frame and upper body development to be an effective blocker on the outside as well.  Look forward to seeing how he develops this year!  Agree though, Ridley is ahead of all the other incoming WR and has surpassed davis imo as well.  The wild card will be Wimms, if he is ready he could be an early impact player for sure!

  45. dsw61

Greg Poole Gawd, I love that guy. He makes his point using fewer words than anyone I know.

  46. Bansai buckeroo

@Ba…. I think his biggest contribution early will probably be on special teams…

  47. Greg Poole

Right now, head coaches aren’t allowed to visit players. Assistants are, however, which is why various Georgia coaches are on the road during what’s called the evaluation period of NCAA recruiting. As a longtime assistant, Smart has long been accustomed to hitting the recruiting trail during this time of the year.
Smart’s been doing his part to figure out what to do with the additional hours he has available.
“You gotta find something to do,” Smart said. “You watch opponents. You watch and evaluate recruits (on film). You try to get on the phone with the prospects. That’s all new to me, not being on the road. That’s been the hardest part. It has been a little slower.”

  48. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole BahitsAgain I am excited about our big WRs.  I remember how effective our run game was when we had the M&Ms Monsters terrorizing the defensive backfields.  When they got hurt, our run numbers would suffer.

Plus, they were great targets for Murray.

  49. Greg Poole

BahitsAgain I’m sure he CAN but he has not been required to do it in HS and those DB in the SEC have seen it before.

  50. Lucas Rogers

I believe ahead of woerner and Reggie Davis. Really impressed with Ridley during spring game.

  51. PTCDawg

Greg Poole PTCDawg yeah, I had to edit my response, I think he is a Senior this coming year. has him currently listed as a junior. said he redshirted in 2014 and was scout team in 2015.

  52. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole PTCDawg Lucas Rogers He is a big, athletic body.  I bet he can get in the way of some LBs, Safeties and DBs.

  53. Greg Poole

PTCDawg Lucas Rogers  Woerner has a steep learning curve in one area – blocking

  54. PTCDawg

Greg Poole PTCDawg I show Hegedus as a senior this year. and BA, I am pretty sure he is a scholly guy but I could be wrong.

  55. PTCDawg

Lucas Rogers How far? You think he does ahead of Reggie? (I have a blind spot with Woerner, I predict him to be the second biggest impact freshman in this class, which given my history of forecasting does not bode well for him!

  56. BahitsAgain

PTCDawg I didn’t know Hegedus hadn’t graduated.  Did he ever get a scholarship?  I thought he was a walkon transfer from UNC or somewhere in one of the Carolinas.

  57. PTCDawg

My take on the WR depth chart…and no, I dont distinguish between WR and FL and X-back or whatever…I figure they get the best guys out there…
    Reggie D
    Tyler S
Not predicting it but if there is any roster mgmt this year I could either Hegedus or Shak being subject to it.

  58. Bulldawg36

I like the smaller cities better like Jefferson, Watkinsville. Statham, Bethlehem.

  59. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG Of course, he is not doing it himself but, you’re right, he does ‘get it’.  He is giving instruction for these things to get done…and it is happening.

Greg Poole Looking at kirby’s twitter…  I’m really glad to see him out there supporting our Tennis and Golf teams!  Kirby really gets it.  I think it’s great to see him out there supporting the other UGA sports when he can!

Greg Poole Surprise, Surprise…   Lets see how this one plays out.  Uniform policies throughout the power 5 is demanded!

  62. Greg Poole

Smart says that Tim Kimbrough has cleared his academic issues and should be “good to go” — per Marc Weiszer

  63. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  I told you to wear your tinfoil hat at all times. It keeps the space aliens from planting conspiracies in your mind.

  64. Bulldawg36

I can’t say for sure either way!!! Just another one of my conspiracy theories!!!!! You know I’m big on them!!!! Lol

  65. Greg Poole

    Bulldawg36  Say it ain’t so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  66. Bulldawg36

I do have my haters on here but Larry Wages is not one of them! He is my number one fan!!! Well at least he was last year! Lol

  67. DawgDaddy

AlphaDawg except gtu.   My order is gtu, ewe tee, uf, awbern, and scu.  I wish gtu would drop down a division.

  68. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers He is improved but he is one year late in making the improvements, IMHO. If he has won the job last year it would have been difficult for Eason to unseat him.

  69. deltonadawg

I’m going with 10 wins the schedule is no harder than last year we have the same QB better online coach. We have the talent to win at least 10 games.

  70. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole Lucas Rogers I don’t see him getting QB job either. He looked improved in spring game though.

  71. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers I think Ramsey is dependent on the punting job. Without it he goes — Just do not see him getting the QB job.

  72. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole lol Hurd will not win it. For one he will be sharing too many carries with Kamara

  73. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole Lucas Rogers A lot of people think Ramsey, if Eason wins QB job. Shakenneth Williams also hasn’t been able to crack the depth chart like expected

  74. Greg Poole

Just got this official confirmation on Brian Herrien from UGA:
Brian Herrien¹s financial aid papers have been submitted to the UGA Athletic Association and are certified.

  75. Lucas Rogers

AlphaDawg Lucas Rogers nah man no coffee for me. For some reason during school I can’t wake up early, but during summer it’s easy lol

  76. AlphaDawg

Lucas Rogers Greg Poole 9 wins is great for a first time HC, but go ahead and be ready for every person outside of UGA to slander us for firing a coach who won 10 games last season for one who wins 9. sigh

  77. DawgDaddy

Lucas Rogers Man that sounds good, they way we have kids recruiting other star players is just plain awesome!

  78. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers Everyone has decided that. I hope it happens. Actually, I hope the gets a few token carries and UGA pounds them without him.

  79. Lucas Rogers

DawgDaddy Lucas Rogers I think by first game of the season there will be about 15 commitments

  80. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers Absolutely. These summer camps in Athens will be intense recruiting sessions and Kirby is not going to send a kid home to think it over.

  81. Lucas Rogers

Greg Poole Lucas Rogers I think 9 wins is a good #. From everything I hear, Chubb will be taking snaps against UNC.

  82. Greg Poole

Lucas Rogers I can’t decide where to come down on the record. If I had the advantage of knowing when Chubb returns and who starts at QB I would feel better about a guess. That said, I feel like the staff is going to have them ready every week and that alone should be worth 9 wins.

  83. Lucas Rogers

DawgDaddy Lucas Rogers They’ll be more than that by the time summer is over lol

  84. Lucas Rogers

I talked to Jacoby Stevens last night. He is planning to commit on his birthday which is July 19th. His original plan was to wait until Jan/Feb, so this is a good sign for Georgia. He is planning on taking some more visits soon, but as of right now I think on July 19th, he commits to Georgia.

  85. Lucas Rogers

MMCSDAWG Lucas Rogers nah lol I work at my apartment complex. I’m a “leasing consultant”

  86. Lucas Rogers

MMCSDAWG Lucas Rogers nothing much! Just hanging around right now. Got work in a bit

  87. BahitsAgain

DawgDaddy Greg Poole Someone should tell PJ they have a sure fire way for him to see the light.

  88. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole Projected top 5 pick….. smhs

All these players costing themselves millions for a little stupidity!!!

  89. BahitsAgain

Greg Poole RED ALERT!!!!!   Jacob has been officially set as the 3rd string QB!

  90. Dawgnation4

Greg Poole LOVED the Chubb section of that video the most honestly. That got me stoked to see him back between the hedges!

  91. AlphaDawg

    Bansai buckeroo

When you go to Georgia games and everybody has on a No. 3 jersey for Gurley, I’m like: No that’s actually for me,” he said.

He was joking, to be clear.

  92. DawgDaddy

Bansai buckeroo Great read, Marshall is a DGD.  I believe he will be our starter immediately.

  93. RumRunnerDoogie

rained all day yesterday and it looks like this might be the only way to get around today haha

  94. Jesse1

Greg Poole Call it p***s envy. Whatever the SEC does the big whatever is going to whine and call cheat.
