The sixth-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team will hit the road for matches at Arkansas and Missouri this weekend as it prepares to enter the final stretch of the 2015 regular season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs (13-4, 6-1 SEC) will begin play on Friday against Arkansas in Fayetteville, with first serve against the No. 46 ranked Razorbacks set to go up at 2 p.m. ET. They will then make the short trip to Columbia for a showdown with Missouri (8-11, 0-7 SEC) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia is coming off a 4-1 road victory over Tennessee in its last match and is riding a four-match winning streak with six regular season matches to play.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Six of the Bulldogs’ doubles players, headlined by senior Lauren Herring at No. 8, are ranked in singles, while two doubles teams are ranked inside the nation’s top-25. Junior Silvia Garcia and freshman Kennedy Shaffer hold the highest doubles spot on the team with a national ranking of 17. Herring and Perez follow closely behind at No. 21.
[su_spacer size=”40″] At the individual level, Herring needs just one more singles or doubles win to break into the top-5 for combined career wins in the Georgia record books. She currently sits tied for sixth with recent graduate Kate Fuller at 120 combined victories.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs are unbeaten in eight-straight matches against Arkansas and hold a 26-3 advantage in the all-time series. They are an undefeated 3-0 against the Missouri Tigers.
