UGA’s top undeclared linebacker 2021 prospect on the board is Paulding County High School’s Smael Mondon. Georgia offered the 6-foot-3 and 215 lbs rising senior last May.
Mondon currently has over 37 scholarship offers, and including the one from the Bulldogs, he also holds offers from a number of major programs – Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas A&M to name a few.
So when is Smael planning to announce his commitment? He hasn’t set a date as of yet, but he did release this via his Twitter account just a couple of weeks ago earlier in May.
Mondon picked up his fifth star from 247Sports, and the service currently ranks him as No. 1 outside linebacker and the No.1 player from the state of Georgia for 2021. 247 also has Mondon as a top-10 recruit overall nationally for 2021 at No. 8. Mondon also picked up a fifth star via ESPN who also echoes 247 ranking him as the No. 1 OLB and player from the state of Georgia. Rivals currently has Mondon as a high four-star prospect, the No. 4 OLB, and the 8 player from the Peach State.
In addition to linebacker, Mondon also plays at running back for the Patriots out of Dallas, GA. During the previous three seasons at Paulding County, Mondon has rushed for 780 yards and 13 touchdowns on 143 carries in over 27 games.
