DDT: Jahmile Addae Wastes No Time, Offers Several High Profile 2023 Defensive Backs for Georgia

Recruiting never stops! We all know that. Which also means that there is no honeymoon period for new coaches when they arrive to a recruiting machine like the Georgia Bulldogs. Expectations are high and Jahmile Addae is showing that there has been no issue in conveying the standard of excellence that is Dawg recruiting to him since his arrival in Athens. The background work and the offers for the 2022 class had all pretty much been completed by the time Addae was hired on January 27th. However, the new UGA secondary coach has really worked hard to establish a connection with big time targets like Malaki Starks and Toriano Pride in that class and has been well received. Even more impressive though, in my opinion, is the major talent that Addae is seeking out for himself as the primary recruiter in the class of 2023.

Since being hired by Georgia, Addae has targeted and offered 3 extremely athletic defensive backs that play their high school ball in the state of Florida and Alabama. Malik Muhammed and Joenel Aguero are both new arrivals at IMG Academy. Each are physical defensive backs that can run in the 40 in the low 4.4, high 4.3 range entering their junior year of high school. The fact that the IMG teammates were among 2 of the very first prospects to be offered by Addae upon his arrival to the Dawgs is not lost on them. I have interviewed both in recent days and it’s clear that Addae is going to fit in quite nicely with the strong group of recruiters on Georgia’s staff. Both of the interviews with Muhammed and Aguero will be published here on Bulldawg Illustrated in the coming days and will be discussed as well on the RBU Podcast (Recruiting – Bulldawg Update) debuting on Monday March 8th.

Addae has also offered AJ Harris. Harris is a rangy 6’2″ 190 pound multi-faceted defensive back out of Phenix City, Alabama. Georgia extended an offer to AJ on February 17th and this appears to be a collaborative effort by Addae and Dell McGee. With Harris having connections to the Columbus, Georgia area, McGee is a nice addition to the mix. Addae’s offer to Harris appears to have created some momentum in the recruitment of the 2023 DB with several Power 5 schools since, including Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Auburn and a host of others. Both 247 Sports and Rivals show Harris as trending toward Georgia. Bulldawg Illustrated has reached out to sources and can confirm the mutual interest between Harris and UGA. Also, current Georgia 2023 commit Pearce Spurlin out of South Walton High School in Florida appears to close with Harris and is doing some very public social media recruitment of his own. Hopefully a interview with him will be forthcoming. If Harris were to commit to Georgia soon, he’d be the first defensive back commitment in the 2023 class and the first for Jahmile Addae for the Dawgs.
