Isaiah Wilson is scheduled to announce his commitment decision between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 ET today. The five-star, class of 2017 offensive tackle prospect out of Poly Prep Country Day School from Brooklyn New York had originally planned to make his announcement on Christmas Day on December 25th but decided to move it up to Friday, December 16th. He is expected to make his choice between Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan. The talented “big man” has over 29 scholarship offers from FBS programs across the country.

He has had a busy November and December taking visits as well as having coaches come see him. Wilson’s most recent official visit was to Athens to see UGA on December 9th, but he did get an “in-home” visit from Alabama Offensive Line Coach Mario Cristobal on the 7th and Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh on the 8th right before he flew down to Georgia. He has also taken 3 other official visits that include to Alabama on November 25th, Michigan on the November 19th, and Florida State on November 11th.

The question on the minds of those college football fans of the Bulldogs, Crimson Tide, and Wolverines is, of course, which school will the 6 foot 7 and 354 lbs offensive lineman pick? Michigan has been a long favorite in this recruiting, but both Alabama and Georgia have gained momentum here in the last several weeks. Both Alabama and Georgia already have five offensive line commitments for 2017 while Michigan has four, but of those three Georgia is the school that perhaps can offer the most immediate opportunity for playing time at either the left or right tackle position on the o-line.

We’ve already seen some surprises in December with these commitment announcements, like Monty Rice choosing to commit to LSU over Auburn and Georgia. Could Isaiah Wilson surprise the college football recruiting world and pick Alabama or even Florida State? Anything is possible, but I think this comes down to a battle between Georgia and Michigan. My confidence on who he picks is split 50/50 between the Bulldogs and Wolverines.
