Over the last week there appeared to be some questions on when 2018 offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer would announce his decision and sign. Salyer put an end to those rumors on Sunday releasing a statement on Twitter that he will be committing and signing on Wednesday, December 20th during the early signing period.

Per DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell, Salyer is expected to announce his decision around 10:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday during an early signing day event at Sports and Social at the Battery Atlanta. 247Sports’ Rusty Mansell is reporting that he will make his announcement around 10:00 a.m. ET.

So who will Salyer commit to and sign with?

For several months now, it looks like it has come down to between Clemson and Georgia. In an interview with Rivals that has been picked up by other media outlets like Fanbuzz.com, Salyer confirmed that his top two schools are UGA and Clemson. I don’t think that has changed. And I like the Bulldogs here.

Salyer is a 6 foot 4, 342 lbs five-star prospect out of Pace Academy and is considered to be one of the top offensive guards in the 2018 recruiting class. 247Sports has him rated as the No. 1 OG as does Rivals while ESPN has him listed as the No. 2 OG. Salyer is also considered to be one of the top players in the country with 247 ranking him No. 12 overall, Rivals No. 9, and ESPN No. 28. He has been selected as a U.S. Army All-American and is slated to play in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Is Salyer an early enrollee?

No. He will enroll at the school of his choice this upcoming summer after graduating from Pace Academy.
