Richard LeCounte Can Ball On the Hardwood as well as the Gridiron

Richard LeCounte III edit by Bob Miller
(edit by Bob Miller)

Richard LeCounte III is a class of 2017 prospect that committed to the University of Georgia back in December, and he has made a living making opponents look silly whether he is running routes as a wide receiver on offense or jumping them as a defensive back for the Panthers’ high school varsity football team. But the talented athlete can also ball on the hardwood as well as the gridiron.

LeCounte put up 20 points and had nine rebounds, four steals and a couple of assists to help Liberty County defeat the defending GHSA Class AAAA champion Jonesboro by a score of 58-52 Thursday evening in the Macon Coliseum to give the Panthers a state basketball championship.

And what does one of the nation’s top athletes do to celebrate a state championship with his team? How about a back flip followed by a “Go Dawgs!”

Richard LeCounte is expected to be an early enrollee for UGA for the class of 2017, and I am sure his future coaches, teammates as well as many a Georgia faithful are eager to see what he can do between the hedges on Saturdays.
