Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Greg Poole i need one of those hats but with the nike logo it probably adds about 20$ on it. i just like to piss off the gatuhs down here. i get the one finger salute a lot with my big G on my back window and i love it

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie thats why u need 36 as a assistant( granted dysfunctional) to help u. just dont let him see a chicken or he will go crazy and try to kill it

  3. RumRunnerDoogie

dawgmum RumRunnerDoogie 1mandawgpack PTCDawg well he does have a good relationship with smart but i dont think he goes out of state imo

  5. dawgmum

RumRunnerDoogie dawgmum 1mandawgpack PTCDawg Yeah, he seems to be all over the place right now. It’s probably hard to have so many schools pulling you in all different directions.

Greg Poole With talk like that, I kind of hate that he will only have a year or two.

If Eason jumps after 3 and does play this year, then Fromm would ….

ok, just thought this through.  If Fromm redshirts next year and if Eason skips early, then Fromm could be our starter for up to 3 years.  That is a good deal.  neat.

  7. Greg Poole

Eason went out of his way to speak and shake hands with Fromm.

I can not stress enough how impressed I was with Fromm. If you have a chance to see him play this fall, you should take advantage of the opportunity. I’m going to see him, for sure.

I talked with Rusty Mansell about him for a minute. He and I agreed that he is just smoking the ball with accuracy and finding the open guy – often throwing them open.

dawgmum 1mandawgpack PTCDawg RumRunnerDoogie well thats a 360 on his interview with dawgnation

PTCDawg I started to say something political, but changed my mind.  I really am loving football this year and it hasn’t even officially started.  🙁

1mandawgpack PTCDawg RumRunnerDoogie He mentions he is going to Georgia next week and “could commit then”, but he doesn’t really seem to be anywhere near a decision at this time, based on this interview. He did say he wants to commit before his senior year, but I think he’s got a lot to think about.

Bleudawg dsw61 Greg Poole Dawgsrulegumpsdrool2 Looks like a pasty Stone Mtn….just need to tat the rebels on there….

PTCDawg RumRunnerDoogie dawgmum  Good news (or maybe bad news) is that Ignont is now at IMG (I think I recall this being the case) which might open up his eyes that there is a football world outside of the state of Alabama.

PTCDawg 1mandawgpack dawgmum  We’ve had some solid LBs over the past 10 – 15 years, but we really haven’t had those elite LBs that are now so coveted who can play all 3 downs and be both a thumper and cover sideline to sideline.  Those, plus shutdown corners who can be put on islands, are an absolute necessity to have an elite defense in the football environment that exists today.

  14. PTCDawg

RumRunnerDoogie dawgmum PTCDawg  yeah Rum, feels kinda like those 2 5* LBs that ‘had us leading’ right up to the end. Only we didn’t. Lyndell Wilson and….and ol whatshisname.

I guess it will just continue to feel that way until one actually signs with the good guys.

Greg Poole 1mandawgpack  She said that buses from the University of Buford were there.  It’ll be interesting to see if these camps get the attention of the various state organizations that oversee athletics as many of these camps are being attended by “teams” (i.e., driving school buses, etc.) and have now extended the HS football season from spring (formal spring practices) to throughout the summer through the season (fall/early winter).

  16. PTCDawg

1mandawgpack PTCDawg dawgmum  I would call McBride an impressive LB signing class all by himself. Glad to pile on it with the other studs though.

  17. RumRunnerDoogie

dawgmum PTCDawg from reading a article today i dont think he leaves the state of bama

  18. Greg Poole

PTCDawg  goergiadogs.com has a calendar –  I’ll run it down for you if you can’t find it – processing photos right now.

  19. PTCDawg

Back in the olden days (last year maybe?) we had a calendar with important UGA football related dates on it. Is that still around somewhere? I keep wondering when stuff is and for some reason Google seems less friendly than it used to be.

  20. Greg Poole

1mandawgpack IDK but 7v7 is a good guess – could be a satellite camp – they have popped up everywhere

  21. 1mandawgpack

PTCDawg 1mandawgpack dawgmum  Thanks PTC – just had an elderly moment there.  Those 2 plus the 2 we already have committed (likely better candidates for OLB or safety/star players) plus BigCat would be an incredible LB class.

  22. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole  Greg, do you know what’s happening at St. Pius today?  My son was over for a soccer lesson this morning and my wife said that there are literally hundreds of kids from different schools there in helmets, t-shirts and shorts.  Maybe a 7 on 7 tournament or since Pius has one of the nicer football stadiums around Atlanta, maybe part of the Rivals event?

  23. 1mandawgpack

PTCDawg dawgmum  Ignont and the LB from Vidalia (drawing an absolute blank on name) would be a nasty, nasty haul at ILB.

  24. DawgDaddy

MMCSDAWG DawgDaddy reason I did not answer sooner is I just got back from playing Lane Creek.  Solid day with a 78 despite 2 doubles.

  25. PTCDawg

dawgmum PTCDawg  well, perhaps that explains the CB right there! So maybe we have a snowballs chance but I still cant imagine it being much more than that. Thanks for the update Mum!

  26. PTCDawg

DawgByte  I spect we will miss Ganus aptitude for the game but I am extremely happy to give Natrez all of Ganus playing time. I do not see this as a step down. And Carter and Kimbrough are a year older and a year smarter. I like our ILB situation as much as I do the OLB. I also think LoCar will be the key to the D.

  27. PTCDawg

An Ignont CB. I found that VERY surprising. Don’t really feel like we have a snowballs chance there, hope to be wrong.
