Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie yea i was going to say they seem like they are huge recruiting events instead of a 7v7 event

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg everytime Herschel ran the ball it could be considered targeting

RumRunnerDoogie >> It is a lot easier for me to cover them now. The morning session are only about 3 miles from my house. Kirby has put a lot more into them also. He has all of the coaches there and he is using the camps as a big recruiting event.

The coaches are using it as an eval event. Pittman was getting on a kid this morning – “If you don’t go full speed I can not evaluate you.”

One thing you can count on is that Kirby thinks recruiting constantly. If you want to predict where he will come down on any topic, look at the recruiting angle.

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie dont remember hearing this much about them, granted u do live in athens now

  5. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie Richt started them – can’t remember when but I know they have been around for several years.

There was a little tussle between Mountain View and Collins Hills this afternoon. The golf cart was pulled out on the field between the teams.

Bleudawg I think the Smart hire may have been initiated over ADGM pay grade. There are a lot of influential folks who are not happy with him but I don’t think the athletic board is ready to dump him – yet.

Greg Poole Bleudawg Im still a little butt hurt about CMR and how he was treated by the admin. (I do support CKS 110% and am happy to have him).  Im also not trying to start any CMR discussion, but ADGM has his little red wagon hitched to Smart so Im thinking whatever he (CKS) needs will suddenly become available.

Bleudawg  It funny. I was on the phone talking with someone about ADGM when your comment popped up on the thread.

I know many on here are NOT McGarrity fans. I have in the past called for his head on a number of occasions.  Im wondering however if current circumstances might indicate hes the best guy fir the job (as far as football goes).  At no time do I remember an ADs career so linked to the success of a particular staff. I doubt CKS will struggle to get whatever $$ or policy changes he needs (w/ in reason).  Yall let me know what you think. I know its crazy but think about it for a second then have at it.  FWIW I have trouble stomaching the idea but …….

Looks like Trenton Hatfield (#2031) has fallen as far as he is going to.

  12. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg Notice the head drop by Herschel?   In our current state of the game, I believe that should be called an offensive penalty…  Stop it at 13 sec mark and tell be he isn’t leading with the crown of his helmet..  I know I’m going to get blasted, but my current pet peave is that offensive players get away with dropping their helmets and/or leading with the crown and should be called targeting both ways!

BahitsAgain  Probably didn’t do the camp circuit.  That’s what caused big Trent to lose the #1 spot in the rankings last year but then he was so dominant at the Army All American game that several services moved him back up.  It’s a grind for a lot of these kids to do these camps given that they have to travel to get there, spend the night, etc.  It gets both super expensive and time consuming.

  14. BahitsAgain

check out the kid at 98 – Jaylon Johnson.  He climbed 406 ranking spots on 247 composite. He must have balled out at a couple of recent camps.

  15. BahitsAgain

Hey BI gurus, looking at 247 composite and the up down rankings arrows, what did DG do to fall 24 in composite rankings?Deangelo Gibbs, #35 down 24 – http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool

  16. MMCSDAWG

DawgDaddy MMCSDAWG I’ve had over a dozen eagles from the fairway…  I’ve been trying for 55 so I’m feeling confident! lol
