UGA Recruiting Daily Thread

The Bulldogs currently have two wide receivers committed for 2018 in Peach County High School’s Kearis Jackson and Saint Thomas Aquinas’ Elijah Moore, and UGA also has two of the top wide outs for 2019 committed with Walton High School’s Dominick Blaylock and Cedar Grove High School’s Jadon Haselwood. So the question is whether or not the Georgia coaching staff will take another receiver in the 2018 class and how many are they looking to add in 2019? Below are four featured wide receiver prospects, one 2018 and three 2019, that could potentially also land in Athens between the hedges.

TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS

If position ranking is noted, it is 247 Sports latest composite ranking of the player.

CHASE COTA

CLASS: 2018

POSITION: No. 21 WR

HT, WT: 6 foot 3.5, and 195 lbs

SCHOOL: South Medford High School

CITY, STATE: Medford, OR

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: Yes, UGA offered on 04/18/2017

# OFFERS: 19

NEWS & NOTES: Cota is a talented wide out from the West Coast that the Georgia staff offered back in April. Is Cota interested in UGA? He put the Dogs in his top 7 schools on June 27th, and he is planning on visiting the UGA-Notre Dame game on Saturday, September 9th. Of course, the Irish also have an offer extended to Cota and are one of the schools also in his top 7. In the end, don’t be surprised if Cota will stay home and pick the Ducks, though.

RAMEL KEYTON

CLASS: 2019

POSITION: No. 30 WR

HT, WT: 6 foot 2, and 180 lbs

SCHOOL: Marietta High School

CITY, STATE: Marietta, GA

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/25/2017.

# OFFERS: 14

NEWS & NOTES: The 2019 recruiting class is loaded with outstanding talent at wide receiver, especially in the Peach State, and Ramel Keyton is no exception. Keyton is one of several wide outs to be selected to the True19 game. Last season as a sophomore, he hauled in 77 catches for over 1,347 yards and 7 touchdowns. In Marietta’s season opener on the road versus Wheeler last weekend, Keyton continued where he left off las year and reeling in 6 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. As of right now, Keyton’s recruitment is considered a Georgia-Florida battle but there is a long way to go here.

POSITION: WR

HT, WT: 5 foot 10, and 186 lbs

SCHOOL: Prince Avenue Christian

CITY, STATE: Bogart, GA

STATUS: Undeclared

UGA OFFER: No.

NEWS & NOTES: Parrish flies under the radar for a couple of reason, he plays in the state of Georgia’s single A classification and he’s not the tallest or biggest receiver at 5 foot 10 and 186 lbs. But that doesn’t stop the talented athlete from putting up numbers on both sides of the ball for Prince Avenue Christian. Last year he caught 30 balls for 807 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver and on defense at free safety, picked off six passes. He helped Prince Avenue to a win on the road versus Aquinas in their season opener, 35-17, with three catches for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns as well as 2 rushes for 28 yards and 1 touchdown. On Friday, the host Riverside Military Academy.
