Bulldawg36    I believe MILES McGINTY is a TE, 6’3″ 218 from Savannah.        I’m sure that if you want to become a winner, you play with other winners like Jacob  who can put it in your hand without letting up a step.        Can’t wait for Jacob to throw the bombs, to those tough TE’s and hand off and watch our RB’s run like hell.      GO DAWGS

  2. PatriotVeteran

Bulldawg36 It’s being Competative at all times, working hard and listening to coaches that are trying to get the most out of every player.   Eason is a big fella who get along with his teammates, loves to work hard, throws a country mile  and do what is right to win football games and Championships.        To me, the most important thing about becoming a great player is  DOES THE PLAYER “WANT TO PLAY FOR UGA” (period).    If you’re happy playing for the team you’ve been dreaming to play for, for years and years, you will give your Heart and Soul in playing for the DAWGS.

  3. dawgmum

RumRunnerDoogie dawgmum DawgLink Let’s hope they stick around for a while. Like maybe 4 years?

  4. DawgByte

MMCSDAWG That is fantastic news! We should be right at the top when it comes to facilities. Time for the Atlanta Whales to break out their checkbooks and pony up some cash!

  5. RobDawg

You mean that his hair really didn’t age like his eyebrows and he is dyeing it???

  6. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Damn at the just for men in that picture…. Looks like he used a tad too much

  7. ZippyMorocco

    MMCSDAWG ZippyMorocco Bulldawg36
No, he is the Barn’s compliance director.

  8. dawgmum

DawgLink Here’s a couple: Cam Akers, Jamaree Salyer from Pace. I think the other big recruit from Pace is coming too, but sorry, I can’t remember his name.

  9. DawgByte

Briles out @ Baylor! There are a lot of takeaways from this story. Certainly we now live in a different era where a Head Coach can no longer pick up the phone and contact the Chief of Police to quietly get a player indiscretion disappear. I think another blow horn moment hear is recruiting. If you a young HC making $1+M/Yr. you better think long and hard about recruiting strategy or you could find your career short lived. Character, intelligence and maturity should be just as important as 40 yard dash times, because Briles got fired, because he had too many players on his team of questionable character.

  10. Bulldawg36

Kirby is certainly right when he says if you get the best players in state you should win championships. That’s why I hate we missed out on Robertson …price and brown. Brown probably would of played right away because of depth issues. Robertson would of been the fastest WR in UGA history maybe. Price might even been 2nd team LT

  11. TtownDawg

Bulldawg36  Yes!!! get through the summer and then its time for football again!

  12. Bulldawg36

All of these guys have one thing in common….they have all been involved in scandals. Lol

  13. Bulldawg36

Both would be pretty funny. Johnny would never be able to show up for work because he is so drunk

  14. AlphaDawg

RumRunnerDoogie AlphaDawg Those may stay bc that’s some pretty good seats.  think they mean inside.

  15. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole Win an NC in 2018 and katy bar the door on the 2019 budget!!!  Like you said, it’s an investment and I’m looking forward to the extended returns!

  16. Greg Poole

The point I’m making here is that UGA is way behind in spending. USCe out-spent UGA in 2015. Louisville out-spent Georgia. Where does $123 million put UGA? Better, no doubt, but spending is relative to what the other guy is doing.

  17. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie I think they are just trying to figure out how to do it now. Some substantial changes will have to be made to accommodate the facilities they are talking about.

  18. MMCSDAWG

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg I don’t know…  probably after this season is complete.

  19. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg any idea when these new locker rooms are supposed to be done?

  20. MMCSDAWG

    ZippyMorocco Bulldawg36

And Don’t forget ole…  Pat Dye as the Prison Wardon.

  21. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg So ADGM felt the need to personally apologize for the lack of #ATD when reviewing the contract with Ludacris…. lol.   Ouch!  That Dawg will bit you!

Greg Poole I’m sure you’ll have an article up soon but here’s the other improvements

The $1 million was part of a $9 million approved for different facility-related projects that were approved by the UGA Athletic Board during its quarterly meeting Thursday in Greensboro.
    Others include:
    • Enhancements to Stegeman Coliseum, Phase 1 – $1,800,000. Plans include a large-scale aesthetic improvement to the southeast end zone, a space currently occupied with achievement banners of all three sports competing in the Coliseum. The display – which will consists of a mural featuring former UGA men’s and women’s basketball players, along with former gymnastics greats, will surround, keeping intact, the existing video board.
    • Jack Turner Soccer stadium renovation — $4,575,000. This renovation project will replace the grandstand and press box, which had been intact since the soccer stadium was built in 1998.
The board also approved a budget of $123,049,705 for fiscal year 2017.
McGarity also used the meeting to apologize to the board for details of the contract with Grammy winner Ludacris for G-Day, which included riders for condoms and alcohol.
“I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to our board for mistakes we made with certain aspects of the details of an entertainment agreement,” McGarity told the board. “Few things in my professional life have bothered me more than this situation. There are no reruns in life so we need to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and do everything we can to make sure errors of this nature do not occur.”
    In other news:
    • Faculty Athletics Representative David Shipley praised a record 60 percent of UGA’s nearly 500 student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 grade point average in the Spring Semester 2016. The average GPA of all student-athletes this spring was 3.04 and included 35 that posted perfect 4.0 GPAs.

  24. Greg Poole

bahits I’m pretty sure the budget was under $100mm in 2016 – certainly in 2015

  25. AlphaDawg

Other improvements will include a space to host and entertain recruits on game day

  26. Greg Poole

A budget of $123,049,705 for fiscal year 2017, as well as $9 million for various facility-related projects, were approved by the University of Georgia Athletic Association Board of Directors during its quarterly meeting here Thursday.

  27. Greg Poole

    From UGA:

*Sanford Stadium west end zone project — $1,000,000. This project will serve as the initial, exploratory steps of a major enhancement to the west end zone of Sanford Stadium.  These enhancements include: a new home locker room for the Bulldogs, a space to host and entertain prospects on game day, and improvements to rest room concession areas.

  28. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG I hope you young guys can establish a new tradition of National Titles!  One us older folks got a taste of, but not nearly a tradition!  I had my doubts when I heard Kirby was the choice, but even an old dawg can be taught new tricks and learn a lesson or two!   He has definitely done things I never thought I would see in 6 months on the job!

  29. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG I think the main thing with the east end locker room is that it is small to have over 100 players. To separate the units and be able to make adjustments has to be tough at halftime – Players, coaches, trainers and others all in that space has to be tough.
We don’t get in until most of the players have left. I can see how size would be an issue.

  30. MMCSDAWG

ZippyMorocco bahits AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG And/or Auburn.  I would absolutely hate to see CMB to go Auburn…

  31. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG We got a swimming pool in the north End of the stadium though!  lol.  I can only judge from what I’ve read.  I’ve never been inside any of them myself either.

  32. ZippyMorocco

    bahits AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG
I don’t think he would leave CSU for UK or vandy. He might for USCe

  33. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg It’s exciting. That student section will start to become a bigger hot spot and we’ll see new run out traditions. Coming from a young fan, it’s exciting to see new traditions being built.

  34. MMCSDAWG

PTCDawg I hear our ex-resident expert @trentsmallwood  thinks he’s not coming to UGA…

  35. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG I’m not opposed to it – just haven’t seen those opulent locker rooms elsewhere – including Jax.
    Go for it, Kirby.

  36. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg Told you’ll Kirby wanted a new in stadium locker room!  He was shocked when he saw the locker rooms in Sanford.  I know B-M is pretty nice, but we are miles behind our competition as far as stadium locker rooms are concerned.  He is not going to let UGA settle for getting by with less than Great facilities, and I applaud him for that…  He’s putting in a herculean effort to give us what we have longed for and missed out on for way too dang long now.  GATA Kirby, Why not Us!  There is really no excuse for UGA not to have elite facilities for ALL sports.  The days of money laundering and hording need to end.  Time to make the investments necessary to achieve our ultimate goals in all Sports…   Results, not excuses!

  37. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg bahits The Stunk against decent competition!  lol.  They finished #122 in rushing defense against a schedule that had 1 top 20 rushing team in it…

  38. AlphaDawg

bahits It’s not a cake walk by any means, but they’ve got a new QB just like us. Chizik is building a good defense there too. Only difference is they didn’t perform well against anyone last season that was worth a flip.

  39. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg  Back in the day the visitors lockerroom was in a building on that end

  40. AlphaDawg

PTCDawg Haven’t heard much but typically there’s a relation. They’ve all been tipped off or one makes a prediction and all the sheeps follow.

  41. AlphaDawg

bahits MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg TeeHDawg From the stories I heard about Pruitt, they possibly were.

  42. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG DawgLink Difference is UT worships BOOTCH so they won’t do anything.

  43. bahits

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG yep, no kidding.  He has learned how to burn SEC defenses and would be a handful and a good recruiter.

Maybe, Kentucky or Vanderbilt for him?  He would be dangerous, but not too dangerous.

  44. bahits

MMCSDAWG bahits DawgLink lol, I have 3 different logons that livefyre picked up on different computers.   It is annoying.  I am going to try to consolidate them when I have time.  Since we don’t track points, it hasn’t been a huge priority.

  45. MMCSDAWG

bahits AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG TeeHDawg Right!   There was definitely some behind the scenes issues going on last year with our offensive staff.  Not sure exactly what they were, but it’s behind us now!

  46. MMCSDAWG

bahits MMCSDAWG DawgLink New logo and no caps in the name…  what happened BA?

  47. bahits

MMCSDAWG DawgLink Hopefully, Kirby won’t either, but he will scare and educate the kids into doing the right things and not the wrong ones.

  48. MMCSDAWG

DawgLink Listening to local sports talk radio on the way to and from lunch.  They specifically called out CMR as one of the few that would never put wins/losses above doing the right thing with respect to player conduct and doing the right thing.

  49. bahits

DawgLink Cover up results are almost always worse than the actual deed and takes down those innocent in the actual deed.  i.e. Nixon trying to protect the party, the office of president and the nation from the ridiculous Watergate breakin,   Paterno and the child molester,  Bill Clinton and well Bill Clinton…. etc. etc.

  50. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie DawgLink well thats pretty inhuman to cover something like that up just for a pay check

  51. PTCDawg

Lots of recent CB love for Tony Gray, which would be a terrific name to add to Demery, Netori, Thomas, Salyer and Wray. Are there any rumors behind the CB action??

  52. PTCDawg

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG  growing up in Austin, Nobis was one of the very first college football players I was aware of. though right after his time, the 1969 Texas-Arkansas game remains a highlight of my early college football years.

  53. MMCSDAWG

DawgLink There is definitely evidence linking Bootch to some shady stuff up in UTk, but who knows.  Not enough heat being put on them yet.  Let’s see what happens once the trial starts…

  54. MMCSDAWG

RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG DawgLink Briles took a transfer from Boise St, that was kicked out of BS, he subsequently raped a female socceer player and they covered it up.  Done

  55. DawgLink

Briles covered up sordid sexual assaults. Word got out and the heat turned up.m aylor had no choice but the axe. Is Tennessee going to get more heat now for their sexual assaults?

  56. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG DawgLink i havent really followed  the story, whats this all about in a nutshell

  57. MMCSDAWG

DawgLink Had to make sure there wasn’t a viable way to squirm out of it without having to fire Briles, but the storm built too fast and there was no way out!

  58. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole Walker looked good during the spring game…  He might be a major player by UTk time!

  59. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG Does he sit out a year and look to take Gus’s job at Auburn after this season…  I hope he goes out west actually!  Don’t want him at Auburn

  60. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG  He started his college career with Leach so he might be heading to the great NW???   Not sure, but he won’t be unemployed long.

  61. ZippyMorocco

    RumRunnerDoogie MMCSDAWG ZippyMorocco
Geechies are Africans imported from the Rice Coast of Africa to work the rice plantations inSC and GA. They have their own dialect, gulla.

  62. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG TeeHDawg I predict we will see a LOT of that some UNC time as well…   There are some tools in our offensive tool box and I expect Cheney and company to utilize them a plenty!  Stay ahead of the chains and control time of possession and we will be alright come Sept 3.

  63. ronaldo77

Greg Poole If any player epitomizes the Richt era, its Reshard Jones.. A good player who underachieved at UGA but became a great player in the NFL

  64. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG TeeHDawg We hit TE’s over the middle all day during Gday. Was beautiful

  65. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG Yep…  drop your hips, face up (Head’s up), drive and wrap.

  66. RumRunnerDoogie

MMCSDAWG RumRunnerDoogie ZippyMorocco end up getting a lot of flagged content most likely haha

  67. MMCSDAWG

TeeHDawg   I believe with the personnel we have onboard right now, we could see formations this season where there are 3-4 TE/HB type players on the field at the same time.  It would not surprise me at all to see Chaney split our TE’s out and off the LOS scrimmage more that we’ve seen in the past.  I know I saw a few formations during G-day where the TE’s/ HB’s were being spread all over the field.  So i do see a place for Davis from one of those types of formations.

  68. TeeHDawg

Morning guys. Some we are going bigger at WR, would it make sense to move Jordan Davis there so he can get on the field more? Or dies he pay a substantial role at TE this year?

  69. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG It’s funny – there is nothing new in football. I remember seeing a film (not video) of Darrell Royal teaching tackling with Tommy Nobis doing the demonstration when I was in high school. I was essentially the same technique.

  70. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole Been teaching this technique for a number of years now…  The Hardest thing to do though isn’t teaching the defenders the proper heads up technique it’s teaching the Offensive players to STOP dropping your head before contact.  I have long supported this technique and it’s been known for quite a long time that dropping your head or leading with the top (crown) of your helmet is Dangerous and leads to most all serious spinal injuries as well as severe concussions.  My opinion is there should be an OFFENSIVE targeting rule as well as the current defensive rule.  As we stand today, the offensive player can Lead with the crown of their helmets and/or duck their heads without repercussion.  If you watch any of the videos on Heads up football, you will never see the offensive player duck his head or lead with the helmet, however when we watch football on Saturdays and Sundays we see it almost routinely.   Even the Great Herschel Walker’s run against Billy bates…  Look at the gif and tell me Herschel doesn’t drop the crown of his helmet just before contact, the only thing that prevented a helmet to helmet collision is the fact that Bates was so low and basically on his knees!

  71. PatriotVeteran

MMCSDAWG I like guys that WANT to play for UGA.     I wish him the best of luck and Welcome to DAWG Country.

  72. MMCSDAWG

    tmdawg12

And it’s almost June!   New recruits reporting next WEEK!   Are you ready for some football???

  73. MMCSDAWG

ZippyMorocco MMCSDAWG I haven’t heard the term Geechie since I was stationed in Charleston many moons ago!  lol

  74. dawgmum

Greg Poole I love the closing statement: “And if Chubb miraculously is able to play September 3rd…we won’t even need a quarterback.”  I can’t wait to see Chubb back on the field, but I’m trusting them to make sure he’s good and ready first. He needs a comeback year like Gurley’s.

  75. MMCSDAWG

    ZippyMorocco MMCSDAWG 1Dawg under God

Morning Zip, any word on when they are going to reschedule your knee surgery?

  76. Greg Poole

DawgLink  There could be some lag with the comment server, but I have not seen it. If there is it would be on LiveFyre’s end.

  77. DawgLink

Anyone having problems with the screen not updating? My comment didn’t show up so I tried to post it again. Site would not let me post it again. Then it finally showed up from the first post

  78. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole He is my second favorite Dawg of all time.  I will never forgive Donnan for not letting him pass a few more times his senior year so he could have 1000+ yards receiving, 1000+ yards rushing and 1000+ yards passing.  That would have been epic.

  79. Greg Poole

Of course, UNC is facing the same prospect of opening up against a Power 5 team. Last year their only regular season blemish was a season opening loss to South Carolina in which Tarhell quarterback Marquise Williams completed three passes to Gamecock defenders. And two of those were to Skai Moore in the endzone.
Georgia will not face Williams as he graduated and moved on. But after losing the 2015 opener and their two post-season games you can bet the Dawgs will face a team ready to start a new winning streak.http://www.berniesdawgblawg.com/2016/05/its-little-easier-sell.html
