Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

RobDawg I just moved my daughter back from Nashville as she graduated from Belmont this spring.  Thank God that was the final move from all that

Greg Poole 13th St is OK in my book. But next time you are in town, hop on over to Phenix City and try Hog Rock BBQ—-I think it is better by a good margin.  And they make a killer nanner puddin’

  3. RobDawg

Yes I am headed to Athens tomorrow to move daughters stuff out of rental house for last time. Then tote it to Nashville in a few weeks.

Too bad Gurley, Sony and Chubb were never healthy at the same time!!! Maybe one day the stars will align!!!!!!!

WillieWalden  No one and I mean no one can do it like Urban Meyer.  You think what Saban has done is incredible consider this.  Saban has 5 National championships and is 64.  Urban has 3 and is 52.  I absolutely think he is a horrible human being, but he may very well be the best football coach in the history of the sport

Bulldawg Bob2 Hola Bob, good to have you back and even better to hear your better half is doing well

  7. DawgDaddy

Bulldawg Bob2 Yes sir, got my great grand son here and ready to enjoy some time with him.

Bulldawg Bob2 Hey, there, Buff, I am SOOOO thrilled to hear about Christi’s remarkable recovery, praying that it continues with zero setbacks. And you, wonderful husband that you are, she couldn’t ask for a better helpmate. Kudos to you both!

AlphaDawg 1mandawgpack DawgByte  I hope so and agree with you that it appears that he has a lot of love for UGA.  My fear is that he has more love for the idea of living on the West coast.  We need to get that nonsense out of his head quickly (at least in the next 19 months).

DawgLink  I agree DL – good ribs and pulled pork is tough to beat.  I don’t eat ribs too often as I end up wearing about as much as I eat, but that’s just my way of complimenting the cook.

AlphaDawg Greg Poole  I think he’s going to be a heck of a back.  He plays HS football in the largest classification in Texas and has put up huge numbers.  He’s also a beast on special teams (kickoff and punt coverage – I’ve never seen a team’s star RB play on kickoff and punt coverage), so I have absolutely no doubt that he’s going to be a stud at UGA.  He won’t be the same type of RB that we’ve become accustomed to and spoiled by (i.e., Gurley and Chubb), but he is going to be a solid contributor for us – of that I have no doubt.  He may be my favorite back out of the “big 3” that we are recruiting hardest (him, Swift and Akers).

  12. Hobnailboot aka RobG

1mandawgpack Greg Poole He’s probably just like me and does not care…..lol

Score Check That would be the first time in history that kind of situation has played out in UGA’s favor

  14. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole Well there goes that argument that he can’t break tackles and isn’t a downhill back.

  15. converted 1981

PTCDawg DawgByte Bulldawg36 Might be better said as “CONSISTENTLY TOP TIER”…..  Not we “Could” do it this year or the next”.

  16. converted 1981

WillieWalden How long before they Burn Down – Crier is up to his old games and it will all come to a head sooner or later.  The sooner the better for me personally —– can Not stand that guy.

  17. Joe Dawg

Score Check  I bet RL III knows what Jacoby is going to do! They made fast friends in Athens.

  18. Joe Dawg

Greg Poole  Had me some Beef Brisket at Gary Lee’s in Brunswick today! GL’s would be a great place to film a Man verses Food with Adam Richman! Excellent BBQ!

AlphaDawg DawgByte  Another possibility is that if we end up taking 5 or 6 DBs in the 17 class (which is a realistic possibility given the amount of talent – 2 safes and 3 or 4 corners), then I think we will scale back significantly on DBs in the ’18 class and can be extremely selective (for example, the young man out of Jacksonville who is rated a 5* and is not considering any of the Florida schools) on who we pursue for a signing day that is 19 months away.
