Georgia Gymdogs’ senior Rachel Schick and freshman Rachel Dickson earned NCAA All-America honors with standout bars performances at the NCAA Semifinals in St. Louis on Friday.

 
 
All-Americans are determined by event standing during the semifinals. The top four finishers in any event or in the all-around earn first-team distinction while finishers five through eight are second team.
 
 
“I’m excited for them and proud of them,” said Georgia gymnastics head coach Danna Durante. “It certainly was the highlight of the evening for them to finish strong like that. I was really proud of the way Rachel Schick finished in earning Second-Team All-America honors. I think the way Rachel Dickson performed speaks to the future of Georgia gymnastics, and it’s bright.”
 
 
The All-America nod is the first in Schick’s collegiate career. In the anchor position, the Rancho Cucamonga, California native claimed a 9.9 in her final routine as a Gymdog to earn the Second Team distinction. Her performance was the final of the night for Georgia.
 
 
“It was very emotional,” said Schick. “I wanted to go up there, just swing, do what I do every day in practice and enjoy the last nationals that I was ever going to be at. I wanted to do what I could for my team.”
 
 
Dickson, a NACGC/W All-American for all-around in the regular season, contributed her 9.9 immediately before Schick. The Second Team All-America nod is her second such honor in her young career.
 
 
“Bars was our last event so we wanted to give it all that we had,” said Dickson. “I went out there and gave it everything I had, and it turned out pretty well.”
