Georgia’s trio of senior Gymdogs – Mary Beth Box, Brandie Jay and Brittany Rogers – were all named NACGC/W regular season All-Americans, announced late Thursday night.

The All-American teams were determined by each gymnast’s RQS score, with the top eight gymnasts nationally in each event and in the all-around named to the first-team. The next eight highest-scoring gymnasts were named to the second team.

“Being recognized as a regular season All-American indicates consistency throughout an 11-week season,” said Georgia head coach Danna Durante. “This is an incredible accomplishment. All three of our seniors have shown tremendous leadership and heart through their performances and always represent Georgia with great pride.”

Rogers reached first-team status on vault and bars after claiming a 9.925 RQS on vault and a 9.92 on bars. She ranked fifth in vault nationally and placed eighth on bars. The Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada native had been a second-team bars honoree by the NACGC/W in each of her first two years of competition at Georgia and reached first-team status a year ago. This season was her first being honored for vault performance.

She was joined on the vault first team by Jay, whose 9.935 RQS made the Fort Collins, Colorado native fourth nationally. Jay also was a second-team All-American in the all-around, finishing 11th nationally with a 39.515 RQS in her first season competing in all four events. Jay was last honored by the NACGC/W as a freshman when she was a vault second-teamer.

Box reached second-team status on both beam and floor, tying for 12th on beam (9.905) and in the floor exercise (9.925). The two honors were Box’s first from the NACGC/W.

Added Durante, “We are so very proud of them; this is a well-deserved honor.”

The ninth-ranked Gymdogs will host a NCAA regional on Saturday, April 2, at Stegeman Coliseum.
