A perfect 10.0 by Gymdogs’ senior Brittany Rogers highlighted the day as the No. 10-ranked Georgia gymnastics team placed second in a tri-meet with No. 7 UCLA and No. 16 Stanford on Sunday in front of 6,020 fans at Pauley Pavilion.

The Gymdogs (6-5) scored a 197.025, while Stanford (11-6) notched a 197.400 to take first and UCLA (6-4) posted a 196.825 to finish third.

“We had our second meet in 48 hours with cross country travels in between,” Georgia head coach Danna Durante said. “This meet was of a different format so there were a lot of obstacles thrown our way, but the team handled it just like the champions that they are – very resilient, flexible and kind of rolling with everything we had in front of us. I’m pleased with their ability to build on what we did Friday. For them to jump on a plane and be here today and post our highest road score is awesome. We’re really moving in the right direction at the right time.”

Rogers posted her 10.0 on vault, the first for Georgia on that apparatus since Courtney Kupets in 2009. The Gymdogs’ last 10.0 came in 2010 when Grace Taylor accomplished it on beam.

“I honestly didn’t really even imagine it to happen, especially on vault,” Rogers said. “I always hoped for it on bars, but I’m obviously at a loss for words about the 10.0 on vault. I’m super excited and humbled at the fact that it’s the first 10 on vault since Courtney Kupets. Hard work pays off and I’m super ecstatic that it was here with my team. It’s definitely fueling the fire for postseason.”

Georgia began its afternoon on bars, posting a 49.15 as Rogers had a 9.925. Brandie Jay recorded a 9.9, while Sydney Snead and Rachel Schick added a pair of 9.8s. Stanford and UCLA each notched a score of 49.375 on beam and vault, respectively.

On beam, Mary Beth Box and Ashlyn Broussard posted a 9.95 and a 9.9, respectively, to wrap up the second rotation for Georgia. Natalie Vaculik received a 9.85 and Rogers a 9.825 as the Gymdogs scored a 49.175. Stanford, on floor, scored a 49.25 and UCLA, on bars, posted a 49.025.

The Gymdogs posted a 49.175 on floor behind Box’s score of 9.95 and Gig Marino’s 9.9. Morgan Reynolds saw her first action of the season, competing third and scoring a 9.825. After Stanford’s 49.25 on vault and UCLA’s 48.95 on beam, Georgia pulled into second place.

In the final rotation, Rogers’ 10.0 energized Georgia’s 49.525 on vault. Marino posted a 9.9, while Broussard, Jay and Snead all received 9.875s. Stanford scored a 49.525 on bars, as UCLA put up a 49.475 on floor.

The Gymdogs continue their trip out west when they return to action Saturday against Utah at 4 p.m. in the final meet of the regular season. The meet will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.

The Georgia-Auburn meet from Friday will air on the SEC Network on Monday at 7 p.m.
