The Georgia women’s soccer team is set for its second game of the 2016 spring season, a match against Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday in Evans, Georgia.

“It will be a really good challenge for us,” head coach Billy Lesesne said. “We are excited about playing another SEC opponent. They will give us different challenges that we didn’t see against Georgia State. They offer another style and give us another type of team to play against. We’re excited to see what we can do and how we can get better.”

South Carolina won the meeting between the two teams in the regular season with a 3-1 victory in Athens. Georgia owns a 15-7-3 all-time record against the Gamecocks.
USC is coming off a season that saw the Gamecocks earn a berth to the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Georgia finished in a 1-1 draw with Georgia State in its first spring game on March 1 in a friendly played in Conyers, Georgia at the RYSA Soccerplex. Forward Lauren Tanner scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal near the ten-minute mark via a double assist from Becca Rasmussen and Marion Crowder.
