Olivia Ball 5th in UGA Diving Invitational

Olivia Ball came in fifth on women¹s 1-meter springboard to highlight Georgia¹s showing in the UGA Diving Invitational on Sunday at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

 

After notching 269.75 points in prelims, Ball rolled up 275.60 points in the final to take fifth. Minnesota¹s Yu Zhou won the competition with 309.60 points.

 

Also for Georgia, Natalie Wallace came in 22nd with 232.30 points, Allison Greene placed 43rd with 199.45 points and Kelly Thatcher finished 46th with 193.20 points.

 

In the men¹s 3-meter springboard event, Ian Forlini paced the Bulldogs with a ninth-place effort with 334.40 points. He accounted for 320.95 points in prelims. The 3-meter title went to Tennessee¹s Mauricio Robles Rodriguez with 395.45 points.

 

Crawford Berry placed 18th for the Bulldogs with 274.95 points, followed by Spencer Madanay in 20th with 271.35 points and Walker Wheeler in 27th with 211.50 points.

 

The UGA Diving Invitational will continue on Monday with men¹s 1-meter and women¹s 3-meter. Prelims will begin at 11 a.m. There is no cost for admission. Live results can be found at DiveMeets.com.
