ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia’s diving squads will have the school’s first home event of 2016 as they host the UGA Diving Invitational and Shootout at Gabrielsen Natatorium this week.

The invitational will run Sunday through Tuesday. Springboard prelims will begin at 11 a.m. with finals to follow immediately after on Sunday and Monday. The platform finals will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women, followed by the men at approximately 1:30 p.m. There is no cost for admission.

Joining Georgia’s squads will be Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Missouri, SMU, Minnesota, Drexel, Iowa State, Illinois, Clemson and North Carolina State.

“Our Christmas training went really well and we’re excited about competing again,” Georgia diving coach Dan Laak said. “Seeing so many quality teams, including the five from the SEC, will be beneficial to us. The competition level will be extremely high and it will prepare us for the upcoming championships.”

The Georgia divers will join the swimmers for meets at Texas A&M on Friday and Texas on Saturday.
