The Georgia swimming and diving teams will return to action this weekend as they host the UGA Fall Invitational at Gabrielsen Natatorium. There is no cost for admission.

“This is our main point of focus for the end of the fall,” Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle said. “I think the kids will race well. We’ve won every meet so far this year, so that’s not a bad thing. Hopefully, they will feel pretty good this week because it’s going to be a high-quality meet. I told the kids yesterday that if they get in a race with someone, I want them to compete. I want them to swim fast so we can get a stepping off place to swim even faster.”

The meet will run Friday through Sunday. Prelims will take place each day at 9:30 a.m., with finals slated for 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Joining Georgia in the meet will be Auburn, Florida State, Virginia, Michigan and California. Harvard and UCLA will enter divers in the invitational.

In the most recent CSCAA women’s team rankings, Georgia is No. 2, Michigan is No. 4, Virginia is No. 5, California is No. 10 and Auburn is No. 11. On the men’s side, California is No. 6, Michigan is No. 10, Georgia is No. 13 and Auburn is tied for No. 17.

Both Georgia squads are undefeated this season. This will be Georgia’s first competition since defeating Missouri on Nov. 10.
