The No. 14 Georgia men’s tennis team will host the No. 14 Florida Gators for a conference duel this evening at 6:00 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, which will be one of two final regular-season home matches for the Bulldogs this weekend.

Georgia, 13-6 and an impressive 9-0 in the SEC, will look to get their sixth win in a row on the year against the Gators who are 13-7 and 6-2 in the SEC to remain undefeated in conference play. Florida took the last meeting between the two schools, a 4-2 decision in the 2016 SEC Tournament final. However, Georgia got the better of Florida in the regular season last year, winning 5-2 in Athens over the Gators, who were ranked No. 14 at that time as well.

The final home match of Georgia’s regular season will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. against South Carolina. The Gamecocks come to Athens having lost 12 matches in a row to Georgia. The Bulldogs’ most recent loss in the series came in 2005, a 4-3 loss to then-No. 34 South Carolina in Columbia.

Last week, the Bulldogs notched a pair of shutouts over ranked opponents, defeating No. 17 Mississippi State and 48th-ranked Auburn each by a score of 4-0. Nathan Ponwith garnered SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the fourth time this season following the two victories, as he won both of his doubles matches and went 1-0 in singles.

Following the home matches against Florida and South Carolina, the Bulldogs will conclude the regular season next weekend with a trip to Texas A&M. The Aggies are currently ranked No. 7 in the country and are the only other undefeated team in the conference.
