[su_spacer size=”40″] Fresh off a 2-0 performance at the ITA Kick-off Weekend to open the 2016 campaign, the Georgia women’s tennis team jumped from No. 4 to No. 2 in the latest ITA team rankings released Wednesday afternoon.

[su_spacer size=”40″] After back-to-back sweeps over then-No. 74 Wyoming and then-No. 57 Old Dominion, the Bulldogs hurdled USC and Florida to claim the second spot in the national poll. Georgia now trails only defending national champion Vanderbilt.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The No. 2 ranking is the highest since the final poll of February 2015, when the Bulldogs were also ranked second. That team went on to finish fifth in the ITA rankings after reaching the Final Four in Waco, Texas.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia returns to action on Saturday as it hosts No. 20 Clemson at 4 p.m. The dual match will take place at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts in the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a Georgia tennis t-shirt.
