D’Andre Swift’s goal for this season is to hit 100 yards in one game. He is the leading returning rusher from last season and is taking on a leading role this year. He ran for an impressive 618 yards and made the SEC All-Freshman team in 2017. He is very motivated and determined to reach his goal this Saturday against Middle Tennessee State.
This weekend’s game is all about improving communication skills and making explosive plays for Georgia. Swift said in yesterday’s interview, “Communication is real big going into this game” when asked if that was something the team could improve on. He also mentioned that communication will be key to stop Middle Tennessee’s “exotic” blitzes. As for what goes into making explosive plays, the running back said, “Making people miss, making DBs miss. The OL does a great job at getting it to the second level. We just got to make the plays.”
Las Vegas oddsmakers have Georgia as a 32-point favorite over Middle Tennessee for this Saturday’s game. Georgia has gained the reputation of being a second-half team and is known to come out of the locker room from halftime looking fresh and fierce. Swift spoke about how the team wore down South Carolina during last weekend’s game in Columbia. “That’s what we kinda try to do is wear them down. We are a second-half team so, we just got so many backs that we are all fresh. The defense was wearing down a lot,” Swift said.
