The Georgia diving teams will get the 2018 portion of the schedule started as they participate this week in the Tennessee Diving Invitational at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville.

“As always, this meet is a good way to finish holiday training and get the second half rolling,” Georgia diving coach Dan Laak said. “I hope we can go in and be competitive and work on some of the things we learned during the fall. We’ve had some bumps and bruises and we’re a little rusty, but everyone is back in the water and ready to go. Most of the SEC schools will be in this meet, along with powerhouse Minnesota, so it will be good to see how we stack up.”

The invitational is slated for Wednesday through Friday. Men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter competitions will take place on Wednesday, followed by men’s 3-meter and women’s 1-meter on Thursday. The preliminaries will start at 11:30 a.m., with the top 12 competitors to square off immediately in the finals. The single-round platform event will be Friday at 11 a.m. Live results can be found at DiveMeets.com.

The meet will feature more than 90 divers from 14 schools.

Georgia’s swimmers are idle until the dual meet against LSU at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Jan. 13.
