Eighteen members of the Georgia swimming and diving teams have earned Scholar All-America Team status, according to an announcement Wednesday by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association.
The CSCAA selected a record 997 swimmers and divers as First-Team Scholar All-Americans with grade point averages of 3.50 or higher and appearances in the national meet. Another 954 were named Honorable Mention with 3.50 GPAs with B-cut time standards or appearances in regional diving competitions.
In addition, both the Bulldogs and the Lady Bulldogs earned Scholar All-America Team status with overall GPAs of 3.18 and 3.32, respectively, during the spring semester.
Individuals named to the First Team included Gunnar Bentz and James Guest for the Bulldogs, and Emily Cameron, Caitlin Casazza, Megan Kingsley, Stephanie Peters, Meaghan Raab, Chantal Van Landeghem and Rachel Zilinskas for the Lady Bulldogs. Honorable Mention picks included Powell Brooks, Clayton Forde, Mick Litherland and John Mattern for the men, and Katherine Aikins, Madison Duvall, Allison Greene, Jordan Stout and Kelly Thatcher for the women.
