KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Georgia sophomore diver McKensi Austin advanced to the NCAA Championships with a seventh-place finish on the 3-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Tuesday at Tennessee’s Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

Austin totaled 612.35 points on the event – including 301.90 in prelims and 310.45 in the finals – for her top-7 qualification.

Senior Ian Forlini, the senior from Warminster, Pa., also highlighted Georgia’s showing on Tuesday, coming in eighth on men’s 1-meter with 653.80 points – 321.60 in prelims and 332.20 during finals. Zachary Allen placed 19th with 280.80 points and Josh Getty took 31st with 217.95 points.

Senior Olivia Ball qualified for the NCAAs with a sixth-place finish on 1-meter on Monday and came in 32nd with 208.25 points on Tuesday in the 3-meter on Tuesday.

The Zone B event marks the only way divers can advance to the NCAA Championships March 14-17 for the women at Ohio State and March 21-24 for the men at Minnesota. Along with Ball and Austin, the Lady Bulldogs have 11 female swimmers invited and two relay alternates headed to the NCAAs, while the male swimming qualifiers will be confirmed on Wednesday.

The top seven women on 1- and 3-meter, the top nine women on platform, the top six men on 1- and 3-meter and the top seven men on platform will advance to the NCAAs. Divers who reach those places can qualify for additional boards at the NCAAs with top-12 finishes at Zones.

The Zone B Championships will conclude on Wednesday. Men’s platform will start at 10 a.m., followed by women’s platform at 2:45 p.m. Live results will be available on DiveMeets.com.
