Georgia sophomore sprinter Matthew Boling has been named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Co-Runner of the Week following the Carolina Challenge, according to a league announcement.
Boling, a native of Houston, Texas, shared this week’s honor with Arkansas’ Amon Kemboi. Boling was the 2020 SEC Indoor Men’s Freshman Runner of the Year and was a two-time SEC Freshman of the Week last indoor season.
Boling made his collegiate debut in the 400-meter dash and left with a victory thanks to the country’s fastest time this year. He clocked a 45.51, which is the second fastest in the world this year and also ranks second on Georgia’s all-time top-10 list behind only the late great Torrin Lawrence’s 45.03 from 2010.
The No. 3 Bulldogs return to action at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., on Jan. 29-30.
