DAWG BONES OFFENSE – GEORGIA

Missouri’s offense has more total yards than Georgia so far this year, but the Bulldogs average more total points per game. Of course Georgia’s defense has set up Georgia’s offense on multiple occasions, but the Bulldogs are finally pounding the ball on the ground like they have in years previous. Against Florida, the Dawgs ran for 193 yards on the ground. Look for that number to increase against a Missouri run defense that ranks 129th out of 130 FBS teams.

DAWG BONES DEFENSE – GEORGIA

These defenses are about as polar opposite as it gets. Georgia has the top ranked defense in the country, while Missouri has the worst in the SEC and one of the worst nationally. Georgia’s defense continued to dominate even in a game where they gave up more yards than usual. This time they made up for it by forcing three turnovers in under three minutes against Florida to put the game away before halftime. Limiting explosive plays will be a key for Georgia against Missouri.

DAWG BONES SPECIAL TEAMS – EVEN

Missouri kicker Harrison Mevis has been one of the best in the country this year, making all 11 of his field goal attempts. He’s also made three field goals of over 50 yards. Georgia kicker Jack Podlesny missed his first field goal of 46 yards but then made his next two attempts. I doubt the Dawgs will have to punt much against Missouri but if they do, Jake Camarda is always a weapon. Mizzou gets the even nod here because of the scoring potential with Mevis.

DAWG BONES COACHING – GEORGIA

Respect has to go to Eli Drinkwitz for taking one of the harder jobs in the SEC, one that will only get harder as Oklahoma and Texas join the SEC. He just does not have the experience or talent to compete with Kirby Smart’s Georgia squad. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken has been creative with his play-calling all year and it will be interesting to see how he handles the passing game with plenty of talent returning from injury at the receiver position. Dan Lanning continues building his portfolio for the head coaching interviews he will get after the season.

DAWG BONES OVERALL – GEORGIA

This game should not be close between two teams trending in opposite directions. Missouri’s defense has been atrocious to be frank. They’ve given up 62 points to Tennessee and 35 points to North Texas as specific examples. The Tigers have not allowed less than 24 points this season so the Georgia offense should have a field day. Expect this to be a matchup where Georgia can get some of its younger players some in-game experience. The Tigers should just hope five-star receiver commit Luther Burden does not flip to Georgia after the game.
