DAWG BONES OFFENSE – GEORGIA

All questions surrounding Georgia’s offense were quickly erased on Saturday with Stetson Bennett finding Jermaine Burton for a 73-yard touchdown on the second play from scrimmage. The Bulldogs wanted to focus on explosive plays and executed many in their win over UAB. Zeb Noland has done a sufficient job filling in at quarterback for the Gamecocks, but Georgia’s offensive talent strongly outweighs South Carolina’s. Look for Georgia to improve its run game against South Carolina, which has been surprisingly average through two games. JT Daniels could be back to start as well.

DAWG BONES DEFENSE – GEORGIA

You knew which way this category was going, right? Georgia’s defense has scored two touchdowns this season without allowing one. Through two games, the Bulldogs defense has given up one field goal to Clemson… that is it. South Carolina pitched a shutout against Eastern Illinois, but also allowed some splash plays in their narrow victory over East Carolina. The Bulldogs should be able to put pressure on USC’s offense and force multiple turnovers.

DAWG BONES SPECIAL TEAMS – GEORGIA

Georgia kicker Jack Podlesny has struggled this year, missing two of his three field goal attempts so far. However, punter Jake Camarda has outshined his struggles. Camarda again downed two of his three punts inside the UAB 20-yard line and also booted a 60-yard punt. Georgia finally got something going in the return game too, with some nice runs from Kearis Jackson.

DAWG BONES COACHING – GEORGIA

Again, this is a category where Georgia easily takes the cake. Shane Beamer and his staff seem to be changing the culture at South Carolina with a 2-0 start. However, they cannot compete with what Kirby Smart and company have done at Georgia. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken called a nearly flawless game against UAB, opening up big plays all over the field. Dan Lanning continues to dial up pressure on the defensive side, leading to three more sacks and three interceptions against the Blazers.

DAWG BONES OVERALL – GEORGIA

Everyone remembers what happened the last time South Carolina came to Athens. Do not expect a repeat performance this time. The Gamecocks are in a transitional/rebuilding phase, while Kirby Smart might have his most-talented team he has ever had at Georgia. The Bulldogs are the No. 2 team in the country for a reason and should take care of the Gamecocks handily under the lights at Sanford Stadium
