Offense – Georgia

Georgia’s offense has finally shown its strength over the last two weeks. Coming off a 401 yard passing performance two weeks ago and a 332 rushing yard performance last week, Georgia’s offense just takes what the defense gives them. They’ve shown their versatility over the past couple of weeks since JT Daniels has taken over at quarterback. On the other hand, Vanderbilt is currently ranked No. 12 in the conference in total offense. Also, they are only averaging 14.25 points per game this season, so Georgia gets the edge here.

Defense – Georgia

Vanderbilt has one of the worst defenses in the SEC, while Georgia has one of the best. That Bulldogs’ unit has been exposed at times this season, but overall they have the better stats to prove their worth. Last week, Vanderbilt gave up 41 points to the upstart Missouri offense while Georgia handled South Carolina soundly. Georgia currently leads the SEC in sacks with 24 compared to Vanderbilt’s 11. The ability to rush the passer is key and that’s what separates the Bulldogs. Vanderbilt’s defense is also limping into this game with injuries and positive Covid cases.

Special Teams – Georgia

Georgia gets the edge here because they check off all the boxes in terms of special teams over Vanderbilt. Last week, the Commodores had no available kickers, so they had to pull Sarah Fuller, the goalie for the women’s soccer team to compete. Although Fuller did a great job on her solo kickoff, Georgia’s special teams as a whole are leaps and bounds better. Vanderbilt punter Harrison Smith currently ranks ahead of Georgia’s Jake Camarda in punt-yard average, but that’s because he’s been used a whole lot more in recent weeks.

Coaching – Georgia

This one is a no-brainer because Georgia is one of the top teams in the country. Despite losing their two biggest games of the season, Kirby Smart has his team still motivated even though there’s a rare chance they make the College Football Playoff. On the hand, Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason is trying to field enough players to finish the season. He’s dealt with countless injuries and positive Covid cases that has diminished the roster. Mason has a respectable staff and is a great players coach, but Smart has a lot more talent right now.

Overall – Georgia

Georgia should win this game by several touchdowns as they are a big-time favorite. After the loss to Florida, the Bulldogs have been clicking on all cylinders trying to finish strong. They will be too much for this Vanderbilt team to handle. It will be interesting to see how Vanderbilt responds after a 41-0 beatdown by Missouri. Georgia just needs to have a balanced attack on offense while committing to playing more sound defensively. It will be a great chance for some of Georgia’s youngsters to get some playing time as well.
