It was a typical Tuesday for the Dawgs as they were practicing in full pads. Georgia is getting ready for their matchup this weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats. This year it will be different for the Dawgs as they travel to Lexington as only three-point favorites. It’s a big game that could very well decide if Georgia will become bowl eligible or not. The Dawgs are sitting at 4-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference. This matchup will be a make or break game for Georgia as they are playing an impressive Kentucky team.
During Tuesday’s practice, there were three things that were noticeable during the media’s 14 minutes.
1: Riley Ridley was back:
The first thing that was noticeable was the presence of true freshmen Riley Ridley after not being in practice Monday due to a death in his family. He is also dealing with a sprained ankle. However, he was doing the drills with the other wide receivers and showed no sign of limping or his ankle hurting.
2: The Injuries:
There was no one in non-contact jerseys today, even though Coach Kirby Smart said his team was banged up. However, a few guys were missing at practice today. DeQuan Hawkins-Muckle was not at practice for a second straight day. Smart informed the media that he’s dealing with a high-ankle sprain. The team is rehabbing him and getting him to do some cardio and other things to help him out. Jayson Stanley was the other player missing from practice today, who according to Smart, just has a mild infection. However, Smart informed the media that the staff believes he will be okay.
Smart also mentioned that Dominick Sanders is still dealing with a minor knee injury, but is practicing.
3: Brice Ramsey kicking
The last thing that was noticeable at practice was that Ramsey was with the kickers during the media time. While he may have been kicking during the media period, Smart informed the media that Ramsey is still taking some reps with the quarterbacks.
There wasn’t much going on at practice today. However, it was the little things that stood out the most.
