Tigers To Watch: Georgia vs. LSU 2022

Brian Kelly (HC) – Kelly has surpassed expectations in year one as the Tiger’s head coach. After a heartbreaking loss to Florida State to begin the season, the Tigers were able to put together an impressive campaign beating 7th ranked Ole Miss and 6th ranked Alabama. Kelly, who has a much different coaching style as compared to previous head coaches Ed Orgeron and Les Miles, was a surprise hire for the Tigers but he has proven to be the right man for the job. The Tigers’ head man will surely have them ready to go this Saturday against Georgia.

Jayden Daniels (QB #5) – Daniels has been electric through his first year in the Tiger’s offense. The Arizona State transfer has thrown for over 2,500 yards and 15 touchdowns this season with only two interceptions. Daniels is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who is elite at turning broken plays into positive gains. He is LSU’s leading rusher by almost 400 yards with over 800 yards on the ground this season. If the Dawgs want to have success against LSU’s dynamic offense, it starts with slowing down Daniels.

Kayshon Boutte (WR #7) – Boutte came into this season with remarkable expectations and has racked up a solid campaign in 2022. Boutte has hauled in 42 passes for 431 yards and one touchdown. The player was gifted LSU’s legendary No. 7 jersey, which is passed down yearly to the Tigers’ most dynamic player. Boutte’s elite speed and contested-catch ability will be a challenge for Kelee Ringo and Kamari Lassiter.

Malik Nabers (WR #8) – Nabers had a very rocky start to this season after two special teams’ turnovers against Florida State contributed to LSU losing that game. However, the speedy receiver has rebounded to be a fantastic weapon for the Tigers’ offense. He has 58 receptions for 726 yards and a touchdown through the end of the regular season. Nabers is one of the more electric receivers in the conference and will be looking to display that against the Bulldogs.

BJ Ojulari (DE #18) – BJ, brother of Georgia great Azeez, has solidified himself as one of the top defensive ends in the country. Ojulari, like his brother, wreaks havoc off the edge and is one of the premier pass rushers in the SEC. Ojulari has 51 total tackles this season, five sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Limiting Ojulari’s pass rushing ability will be critical to generating offensive momentum for the Dawgs this weekend.

Harold Perkins Jr. (LB #40) – Few play the Inside Linebacker position better than Harold Perkins Jr. The true freshman has 59 total tackles this season, 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. Perkins flies all over the field and has started gaining media attention as one of the best defensive players in the country. Whether that is the case or not, the Dawgs will have their hands full scheming around number 40 in purple and gold this Saturday.
