If I had been asked when Mark Richt would hold an open-to-the-public scrimmage, before this news, my response would have been, when pigs fly. Last season Richt went as far as halting, not just video but, still photos at some practices. Such was his attention to preventing the slightest tidbits of information getting to the opposition. Now, we learn that that Miami’s second scrimmage (of three) will be open to the public.

According to the schedule, the Canes will practice eight times before the first scrimmage, set for April 2. It won’t be open to the public, but the second scrimmage on Saturday, April 9, will be. That scrimmage will take place at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Spring practice concludes with a Saturday, April 16, spring game, which is set for two p.m. at Lockhart Stadium. It is open to the public and free of charge for all fans.
