Georgia junior right-hander Tony Locey has been named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

A 6-3, 235-pound native of Columbus, Ga., Locey picked up his second consecutive Friday Night victory, matching his career-high of seven innings with 10 strikeouts and just one walk in a road win over Auburn. He set the tone as the Bulldogs claimed the opener 11-2 and went on to post their first series win over Auburn since 2012 and the first in Auburn since 2006. Locey defeated Florida in his first career SEC Friday Night start on May 3 and the Bulldogs ended up sweeping the Gators for the first time since 2006.

This marks the second time that Locey has been recognized by the league. Last month, he was the SEC Pitcher of the Week after combining on a one-hitter in a series-clinching victory over fifth-ranked Vanderbilt.

The Bulldogs lead the nation in Fewest Hits Allowed Per Nine Innings at 6.2 and rank seventh in Earned Run Average at 3.21. Locey ranks sixth nationally in Victories (9) and Fewest Hits Allowed Per Nine Innings (4.8). Overall, Locey is 9-1 with a 2.63 ERA, and in the SEC, he is 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA.

Locey, along with Drake Fellows (Vanderbilt), were the pitchers honored by the SEC while Andrew Lipcius (Tennessee) was the Player of the Week and Brett Kerry (South Carolina) was the Freshman of the Week. Fellows won his 10thgame and struck out 11 in a win over Missouri. Lipcius helped the Vols win a road series over Florida while Kerry made two relief appearances as the Gamecocks claimed a series over Kentucky.

Georgia (39-14, 18-9 SEC), now ranked No. 7 in the latest D1Baseball.com top 25 poll, returns to action Thursday when it plays host to Alabama (29-23, 7-20 SEC) in another sold out SEC series. First pitch at Foley Field is slated for 7:02 p.m. and be televised by SEC Network+ and available via the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.
