After the dust settled from National Signing Day on February 1st, what was left behind is the best recruiting class in University of Georgia history – at least on paper. The time is rapidly approaching where stars on a piece of paper fade away and performance in workouts and on the field come into focus. The future is now for twenty-five new Georgia Bulldogs and there are eight players with instant impact potential.

 
8. NATE MCBRIDE
 
Nate McBride makes this list because of his potential on special teams. While he is still raw in terms as a linebacker, the 6’2 230 pound McBride is blessed with tremendous speed giving him the potential to be a heat-seeking missile for the Dawgs special teams coverage units.
 
 
7. AMEER SPEED
 
A major area of concern for the Bulldogs heading into the 2017 season is at cornerback. Speed was a fantastic signing day addition to this class with his combination of elite size and speed. He will contribute early on special teams and will provide immediate quality depth at corner.
 
 
6. ANDREW THOMAS
 
Thomas rocketed up the recruiting rankings after a dominant week at the US Army All-American game. He is a prototypical left tackle who displayed excellent feet and elite length when facing the best high school pass rushers in the country. He has the potential to be a first-round NFL Draft pick.
 
 

 
 
5. JAKE FROMM
 
If everything goes to plan Jake Fromm will only see the field in mop up duty after the Bulldogs have raced out to a big lead. However, Fromm will have an immeasurable impact in offseason workouts, the film room, and weekly game preparation. Fromm can push Eason to reach his unlimited potential.
 
 
4. JUSTIN SCHAEFFER
 
The left guard position is wide open heading into the 2017 season. Schaeffer, the lowest rated of the Bulldogs offensive line commits, is in a perfect position to earn a role immediately. At 6’5 356 pounds he plays with a mean streak and has earned a reputation as a tactician. That is a rare combination.
 
 
3. D’ANGELO GIBBS
 
Kirby Smart engaged in an all-out recruiting war with former mentor Nick Saban to land Gibbs signature on the dotted line. The star position is perhaps the most important in Coach Smart’s defensive scheme and Gibbs checks every single box. He hits like a linebacker, can cover tight ends and run with the fastest receivers.
 
 

 
 
2. JEREMIAH HOLLOMAN
 
Holloman arrived in Athens as an early enrollee and has not disappointed. He can take the top off a defense or turn a tunnel screen into an 80-yard touchdown reception. Not only is Holloman an elite athlete but he has also been praised by Coach Smart for his relentless work ethic. The wide receiver room is begging for playmakers and Holloman appears to be one.
 
 
1. ISAIAH WILSON
 
The biggest member of the class in terms of physical stature also happens to arrive in Athens gunning to lock down the role where the Dawgs have their biggest need. The right tackle position is wide open and for the offense to reach its potential the best case scenario is for Wilson to lock down the position from Day 1. He is an imposing physical presence who can dominate the man across from him.
